Rule of tomb for offensive spells Adept 1 to Adep 3 increase damage of spell by 10% meanwhile upgrading from Adept 3 to Master 1 improve damage of spell by 25% </DIV>

<DIV>I'd exclude from your list any concetration buff for reason that Apprentice 1 about as good as Master 1 in all stats</DIV> <DIV>I'd exclude also Agonizing Silence - Adept 1 of this spell probably most common among all adepts from lvl 40 to 50 and you cannt land Agonizing Silence on any kind of raid mob - you can land Withering Silence thou</DIV>
<DIV>My Bravado adept 1 at lvl 37 shows +33% speed increase. Its possible that it improves by lvl? Still some time till master it (184 skill, master at 220 skill).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Klattu</DIV>

Originally (in Beta) all upgrading did was give you a casting modifier to your level. For instance, if you were level 40 and cast Spell X at App 1, you cast it as if you were really level 39. If you cast it at Adept 1, you cast it as if you were really level 42.</P> <P>Later on in Beta they figured out that upgrades weren't all that significant, so they added one additional effect. For spells that do damage or heal health, upgrading from one tier (Apprentice) to another tier (Adept), also applied an additional scalar multiplier to the effect. In other words, casting Damage spell X at level 40 at Adept 1, you figured damage as if you were 42, then multiplied it by, say, 1.1 because of the Adept bonus. </FONT></P> <P>This explains why upgrading damage spells (and heals) tends to be useful, and upgrading other stuff doesn't tend to be. Buffs grow only marginally with level anyway - over the 10 level growth span of a buff it may gain a point in a stat every level or two, and since there isn't any multiplier, it's usually pointless to upgrade. Some control spells might be useful to upgrade, if it helps the resist check enough (it effectively makes things more toward the blue/green end of the scale even when they're not). For the most part, though, you'll always get the most bang for the buck out of damage upgrades, because they get the additional scalar. </FONT></P>

i remember a dev post somewhere saying clarity actually did 53 @adept III and not 40 it was just showing the wrong number <div></div>

Nah Master 1 clarity still do 40 power/6s .... Illusionist Insight tough been fixed and Master 1 Insight do 60 power/6s
