Ok, I just wanted to post a soloing strategy that has worked very well for me (level 33 coercer). This will only really work once you get whithering silence. (this can be used to perma stifle a mob... and we can tank a stifkled mob).I start with Anguish. This spell has a ridiculously large range...Then I cast stupefy (for the quick cast) immediatly followed by unnerving stare.then I hit the HO (just to get it ready)followed by Gloom, Meloncholy, cerebral spasmNext is Ego Strike.. this usually roots them and triggers the HONext is withering silenceThen Despotic mindThe mob will usually start hitting you now (unless you get really lucky with your ego strike's root)However, it won't be doing much damage and will interupt much less often. If the HO needs gloom, I cast it now as it is about to wear off anywayotherwise I HO and then muddled thinkingNext I decide... if I can kill it in one more spell, I wait for Despotic mind to refresh...If not, I re-cast withering silence and kill it with ho's and DMIf something goes terribly wrong, I'll just root and back up for a second... I'm usually about half health and 40-60% power. All my spells are adept 1 except withering silence which is app4.Anyway, just a different way of soloing... works real well for me, and withering silence sticks a lot easier than root.SummaryAnguishstupefy, unnerving stareHo startergloom, melancholy, cerbral spasmego strikewithering silenceDespotic mindHO, nuke and withering silence till dead (the mob, not you... =)

Interesting. When I was your level, I always started with Ego Stike which rooted the MOB long enough for me to get melancholy off then unnevering stare. While he's stunned I'd drop anguish, then start an Ho with Despotic mind and go from there, then binding light before the stun wore off. I'd then wait till the Dots did some more damage then I'd repeat with the ego strike, the HO. This would kill most MOBs, even reds without putting me in much danger. Often, I wouldn't get hit at all.

Ok, here is a strategy I work on..I take a pet, always a caster pet...First off I root the target and de-buff, then press the pet attack command then immediatly the pet back off. This causes the pet to cast while not actually flying in to be eaten alive, then it is basically a rinse and repeat type of thing, give the pet a second or 2 to refresh then just let it cast again. If the mobs is kept rooted neither you or your pet need take any damage.. I have found this to work against yellow ^^^ without much problem apart from the odd resist!Let me know what you all think!

I find that strategy takes a long time and isn't efficient overall.I charm a caster. Open with mez, and then debuff as well as Mindbend (for those that have it). Stack all my reactives on, then send in the pet as I cast root. I'll also cast silence if the target is a caster. Once the pet engages and I get a few reactive procs, I'll chain stun and refresh reactives and root as needed. With Master 1 charm, my pet is doing enough damage that I don't really need root, but it's there in case charm breaks. This usually causes my pet to take 20-40% damage, but the fight goes much more quickly. As an aside, I can't believe you added to a topic that was started a year ago! :smileyvery-happy:

Message Edited by Mandelbrodt on 02-16-200609:58 AM
