<DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The duration on Beguile is fixed as well,  great! i hear you all cry, I personally have been waiting on this one getting fixed to see what our class is finally going to look like with a working charm spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Huge disapointment, its a very short duration charm (45 seconds app4). This duration means that in groups you would be better off spending time doing DPS than recharming a pet all the time especially since you cannot recharm the pet until charm breaks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I tried soloing with it and found that since i cannot recharm a pet until charm wore off I had to spend time CC the two creatures instead of doing dps. I also found that if i alternated charming from one creature to another the second charmed creature just stands there and will not attack.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I seriously hope they either up the duration of beguile so that we can do other things than control a pet all the time, or fix it so we can recharm the same pet before charm breaks. Until they fix this I am feeling like Beguile is a waste of time and I am better just doing pure dps.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Very sad.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I have the Adept I version. I'm at work so haven't gotten to do much testing. I'd imagine it would work best in 2 mob ^ encounters. I also just got Foreced hesitation Master I. I'll see how everything works when I get home.</DIV>

<DIV>Screwed I tell ya! Wizzys are nuking like crazy now, and you guys know they can replenish power right ? Guess what they also have forms of Mezz , better roots.. No argument now who is better for a group , and we still dont have a Beguile thats any good... Before you get all happy about 10min buffs , dont forget everyone else got longer buff as well.. Really there was nothing in the patch that upgraded Coercers... Blahhhhh</DIV>

<DIV>I do have many alts and yes i do enjoy playing them much more. only problem is my coercer is level 48 and i would like him to be usefull at some point in time . Im going to have 8 alts (2 accounts/dual boxing) level 50 eventually and unless some things are fixed i doubt the coercer will see much time.  It also took me to play in 40+ groups on an ALT without a coercer to see how really uneffective we are. CC is very seldom an issue and unless your group is mad mad chain pulling , power is not that big an issue.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Moreover , I know im not the only Coercer that feels they are nerfed.. Would it not be a good idea for us to post why and how we are unbalanced? </DIV><p>Message Edited by Ol'boy on <span class=date_text>02-17-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:47 PM</span>

<DIV>With the new increases to Wizards DPS I ask anyone to tell me why a coercer would be required in a group.  I'm not saying that Wizards didn't deserve their increase, of course they did and they should be the rightful rulers of DPS.  BTW does anyone have a comparison of Coercer DPS v's Wizard DPS now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lets look at coercers</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>CC, not needed most of the time,  adds exception</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>DPS,  Dropped now with Wizard DPS, yes we can sustain DPS but really is Sustained DPS really Needed.  IMO sustained damage is not needed in EQ2, most battles are over before thats a bonus.  Our DPS is still acceptable but what do we get to make up of  lower DPS</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Breeze/Refresh,  good to have but only needed if getting adds, with food and drink regen rates as high as they are downtime is negligable.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Haste,  Once again Good to have but not at all needed</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes ol'boy has a lot of compaints raised on this forum but they are not without merit and all coercers will benefit if even some are addressed.  in these forums please address the concerns of people and not the people theselves.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=3>Yup since the patch yesterday I also see binding light breaking far more often on exactly the same mobs as I have been soloing for the past 5 days. Infact it is breaking so often now I am struggling to solo one light blue mob that before I could take down easily.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3></FONT> </DIV>

I'm so baffled that coercers are using root....I think I've cast that spell like 3 times soloing in my 31 levels..Stuns and stifles... If you cast stifle on a mob, (overwhelming or withering silence) they can't use their special abilities. Even us paper tanks can take hits if the mob isn't using specials...I know it isn't the point (the point is that bindlight is supposedly resisting), but why use it?

Doesn't overwhelmin silence only stifle for like a couple of seconds (not the entire time of the power drain). If it stifles the entire time then maybe I'll give that a try. Anyway, back to binding light...I had to zone like 3 times to escape mobs that I've been soloing with hardly any trouble the past 4 levels. Typically I've been able to cast binding lights then gloom, melancholy without breakage probably greater than 50%. Once Gloom is on generally Melancholy won't break the root. Now it does. I also see much more frequent breakage after the dot has been applied (each tick seems to give more chance of breakge) where it hardly did this before. I've also seen binding lights breaking much more with nothing else even cast on it. This seems to happen more in the middle of a fight where I have been casting other stuff. Almost like casting the other stuff makes the mob resistant to anymore roots.

<DIV><FONT size=2>Wow nice one, I hadnt tried tanking using stifle and it does let me get back to some solo xp. I dont however regard the coercer as a toe to toe class and I still like the root and nuke style but thats just my preference. I really hope this silent nerf to our root was just a mistake and not a permanent adjustment.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
