<DIV>Well I have been evny for quete a long time toward guardians who been soloing left and right "group" type of mob for experience and loot toss here that I had a lot pending quests that requied killing ++ type of creature that either alreadt grey out or merely green.... Anyhow I decided to give it a shot to see what I can and what I cannt do...</DIV> <DIV>Little background here I am lvl 45 coercer, my gear you can see via eq2players.com Mondor on Nektulos server. My AC is 1401, Agi 101, Int 174, selfbuffed HP 2023 and selfbuffed mana pool 2341.... All my offensive spells at Adept 3 lvl and Muddled thinking is Master 1.... I also have tier 2 horse. As a hunting ground I picked Feerrott (since I had quete a few quests here to finish)</DIV> <DIV>First I have tried highest grey conned mob with 2 arrow up lvl 38 reculse - I won w/o taking much damage (7 lvl difference = almost full immunity to melee), </DIV> <DIV>Next I picked up group of 4 Fetid Ralosian Allegant lvl 38 all grey con(had quest for Vision of Fear to finish so...) - I won w/o taking much damage again</DIV> <DIV>Conclusion with good gear and agi over 100 - robed caster easy capable of killing toe to toe any none boss type mob that 7 below and lower</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next I dicied to give a shot for soloing group of 2 + green conned mobs lvl 39. Again same object - Recluses. Mezed 1 and procced wacking second one toe to toe... Well here is a drill as long as you keep despair on target you can ignore melee attack of mob - once despair off ... you start take melee damage. To maximize killing speed I have also used Ravage Psyche. Killing 2 green coned lvl 39 recluse with 1 arrow up took me less then 120 second. I ended fight with over 80 power left!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next I picked group of 3 green conned swamp feeders lvl 39 - again pretty much same tactic - keeped mezed 1 and stand toe to toe rest 2. Again practically no damage taken.... fight yet took a bit over 180 second and I ended up with around 25-30% power left.... ouch</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next I picked green conned recluse with 2 arrow up.... First of all - I was not able withstand direct melee damage toe to toe. So its pretty much was root-cooking tactic. Well at first I tried run root-dot-HO routine ... Not very practical. Combination of 4 dots Anguish Adept 3, Gloom Adept 3, Despair Adept 3, Mind Gorge Adept 2 and Root - pretty much all you need for safe killing. Second thing old bug with teleporting monsters hit me here with vegeance. So what ever you do then you solo double arrow mobs NEVER EVER have root and stun in same time on mob - if you have to stun fine - just dont cast root untill stun completely ware off or mob WILL teleport on top of you... If this happend - best way to deal with it - yell and run away. Also keep in mind once mob gain ability to teleport it bugged. If you come back for revange and root it - (w/o stun) it will still teleport on top of you. Anyway - here is a scope - killing double arrow up taking me in average 3 min and taking away around 40 to 50% from my power pool. Certain risk involved in this - mob can start do reverse summoning (aka teleporting on top of you) or it can land couple lucky hits that make serious dent in your HP pool. Conclusion - soloing such kind of mob possible but not practical</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lastly I decide to solo even (white) conned 2 arrow up snow leopard in Everfrost ... Well mildly say dont do it unless you totaly bored and have nothing esle to do. First of all the only way deal with it is kiting so unless you have at very least tier 2 horse dont even try. Second problem - root (I have adept 1 Forced Hesitation resist a lot and dont hold white conned mob for long enouth to be usefull). After braking combat for like 5 or 6 time and getting awat barely alive... I come with idea that actually worked. I dont know exactly how long took this killing but more then 15 min for sure. So here is a tactic. Pull with anguish then stun then load all your dots if you still have time do 1 HO if not... run and keep running till stun ready to use again. Stop stun mob - land every dot you have and run again. I found that only Eerie focus work relaible and fast enouth to cast to be practical for soloing this kind of mob. Anguish+Mind Gorge+Refresh will give you enouth power to sustein this fight.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>From exp point of view... Best you can come up with is soloing green coned group with 1 arrow up. They extemely fast to kill, very safe in terms of taking melee damage and good exp. I was getting around 0.2-0.3% per kill of group of green conned 1 arrow up recluses in Feerrott</DIV><p>Message Edited by Tanatus on <span class=date_text>01-28-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:09 PM</span>

Interesting stuff. And pretty much universal after Level 20, it seems. Green ^ mobs are the best eating. Anything with an ^ arrow above green is just too risky and not time-efficient. Any colored ^^ mob is not a good idea. However, there are orange and red (no ^) mobs that you can solo for similar or even a bit greater xp. Major power useage on those, however...and you need some landscape to work with that's not choked up with adds <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> What comes to mind is soloing red void shrillers in EL at Level 28-30. With the major lack of solo ^ mobs getting worse as you level, sometimes these types of mobs can be an alternative.

Its too bad we never get an upgrade to Blinding light. As long as you can land this spell on a monster and you have room to kite you can solo it as long as there is room to kite.. Regardless of the con. I was soloing Yellow con ^^ mobs in Enchanted Lands using this spell in the early 30s. Too bad our root upgrade sucks. =/

<DIV>Folks major problem is our damage avoidance and mitingation. Getting over 100 agi helps immersively, getting at lvl 46 crushing blow resistance again help immersively. Torment + Mind Gorge provide so much power that if you do root-cooking you will end up with full bar of mana. As I have tested and found couple "brake points"</DIV> <DIV>Your lvl - 10 lvls - this a point there you can "safely" solo mini boss kind of mobs w/o risk of die. I did solo Chamber of Immortality Access. Melee attack of 3 named was laughtable... Named Sorc been able land on me visible damage via magic (regardless of my ward and arcane mitingation buffs) but I been able drain his power so fast that was no risk of death</DIV> <DIV>Your lvl - 7 lvl - at this point you gain sorta melee immunity. Note that special attacks like Crushing Blow WILL lands on you, Magic Attack will hurt you but with stifle and power drain you have all tools to deal with it</DIV> <DIV>You lvl - 5 lvl - at this point you can "tank" and so to speak this is your window for solo no arrow group or 1 arrow up group. Monsters that 5-7 lvl below you</DIV> <DIV>Now things getting interesting monsters that have lvl +-3 lvl above and below - you can afford take several rounds of attack with chance 50-50 take damage or avoid </DIV> <DIV>Now as long as mob cons orange to you - you can afford take at least 1 round off attack w/o been killed</DIV> <DIV>Red conned group mob is pretty much death sentence once mob have time for 1 full round of attack</DIV>
<DIV>Hmm, for some reason my expeirince trying this seems considerably diffrent, Im level 43 111 agil 1955 hits , 2267 power , 163 int, and for some reason when i check persona it shows me at 3672 defense (don't ask me how I have hte Ratonga defense abilities but that shouldnt be that much diffrence).</DIV> <DIV>I tried soloing the the same type of mobs you were talking about grren recluses (of course those are the ones that are grey to you) and it pretty much went, mez one, second comes running hits me with crushing blow for 700'sh and stuns me, hits me with barrage for 800'sh pops me one or two more times with normal melee hits before stun wears of and Im ded before I can ever cast a second spell.</DIV>

<DIV>It is essential to keep mob that you are fighting stifled 100% of time and preferebly slowed</DIV> <DIV>Withering Silence and Agonizing silence both will block crushing blows, wild swings and barrages completely.</DIV> <DIV>Basically once you mezed closest to you mob in pair you need cast stifle on mob that comming on you - second spell to land <BR>slowing dot (despair) and refresh silence all the time</DIV>
<DIV>Ok thanks for the tip, I'll give it another shot or two. The problem I forsee though, is I start of with a mez, and it seems i usually do not have time to cast a second spell before the non mezzed one is on top of me and they always open with some kind of special which usually stuns me, maybe its time to start some kiting practices, run just long enough to get off the silence.</DIV>

<DIV>When working on two mobs, I would mezz the first mob then stun the incoming mob. Fast Cast stun will go off in plenty of time which allows you to root/stifle it whatever you want to do.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Make sure you use TAB to toggle between targets. You should already have the second mob targeted before you finish casting Mez on teh first one. It will save you some time.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Toogeloo on <span class=date_text>02-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:16 PM</span>
