<DIV>I have been soloing since I played EQ2. My friend decided to join me and he'll be buying an account soon. We'll likely duo all the time, as we only can play short sessions each time, so its difficult for us to find a group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would appreciate some advise for those who have been duoing with friends, what class is a good duoing partner for Coercers?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My friend is interested to be a Necro or Bruiser. Will any of this 2 be good duoing partners?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope someone who has experience with duoing can advise us on this pls. Thanks alot <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

I guess I prefer it safe but I would say a priest class, possibly a warden since they get heals and lotsa nukes.Me and my wife play a chanter/druid combo as alts and its alot of fun.Mez-nuke+nuke-mez or stun and heals incase something goes wrong and we can kill ^^ mobs with ease at lvl 17.I know this will change some but its really a sweet combo.
<DIV>Me and my girlfriend play a Coerser and a Wizard. She stuns and mezzes and I dot and nuke. With brezze it eliminates downtime for my nuker class. Lack of a tank limits us to solos but we can easily take yellows and white mods over and over.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>Bruiser is probably the better choice. Between his evasion and your damage mitigation, you can take on a wide variety of opponents for xp, although you'll have to skip the tougher opponents. You'll also do a ton of damage together, so it will go quickly.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Healing classes don't make good duo partners simply because you can't get hit anyway, so most of their spells are a waste, and their offense sucks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Scouts tend to be bad because they rely heavily on rear/side attacks - which don't work unless you're tanking.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Other casters aren't nearly as potent as you might think, simply because the ways of controlling a mob under active assault aren't that great. With Sorcerers, the roots will almost insta-break if you're both pounding into it, and with Summoners, the combo of the two Mages will easily pull aggro.</DIV>

<DIV>If you want to duo, a shaman/defiler is probably the best pick.</DIV> <DIV>Someone will get hit, and the wards works nicely on caster classes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Otherwise, pick a paladin... for self heals.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When i was 37 i duoed blue group mobs with a defiler, it worked nicely.</DIV> <DIV>We never got around to trying white mobs, and we didn't fight groups of more than 3.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Orki who Posts on <span class=date_text>01-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:03 PM</span>

<DIV>I play a necro and the wife a coercer both level 36 now. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Its a great combo, when we solo together its non stop pulls of orange mobs in rv or el. I have adept 3 version of the tank pet which holds agro very well. It is very rare the tank pet will loze agro. Toss in the master level bravado and pet goes nuts on mobs. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Other nice features of this combo are both can stun ( which can save both on bad pulls), both can drain power also necro can ward corcer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I greatly enjoy duoing with a fury. The agility buffs are nice, the healing is more then sufficient, and the extra offense speeds along combat.Tank classes can be fun to duo with too as an exercise to see just how much damage we can prevent.

<DIV>Well, I would say a cleric...but that really not the point in fact. The point is that if you want to duo, your partner has to know you like he knows himself.</DIV> <DIV>My RL inquisitor friend and me are playing together since the begining. We are now lvl 21. He knows every aspect of my skill so do I. HE never break mez and when a multiple encounter occurs, after the first mob slain he always attacks the correct mob, the one that is finishing its mez. It always surprise me how our combination is well working and how he is understanding my job</DIV> <DIV>He do tank and healm himself (except if get aggro) and it seems to work for the moment. The encounters are based on endurance and not quick finishing but we rarely fail and power is saved because of CC. So we can do much..much than groups i have seen playing</DIV> <DIV>Frankly i will tell you why i do love in this combination : the challenge. We are not XP grinder so that not important if we are not more effective thant "perfect build" group. </DIV> <DIV>We have often grouped with tank and you know what ? I find the "no strategy" a little boring. By grouping with a character that s not a tank, i have enhanced my fun of playing, enhanced my skills of CC because it s a mandatory. </DIV> <DIV>Full Crowd Control, Real aggro managment (Cleric get aggro not so easily), real challenge during combat..my way of playing EQ2</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To conclude the point and answer the question I would say that the more important thing when duo is to know exactly the skills of your partner and his "way" of thinking.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Farewell</DIV> <DIV>Khatovar - lvl 21 Coercer - Mistmoore</DIV> <DIV>Volesprit - lvl 21 Inquisitor - Mistmoore (my partner)</DIV> <p>Message Edited by ppRaistlin on <span class=date_text>01-18-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:27 PM</span>

real challenge during combat..my way of playing EQ2 Very refreshing to hear. Maybe I'm just getting old (23?) but I've lost faith in the human race after having played WoW. Never before had I see such rallying cries for the removal of any and all challenge from a game. Well they got what they wanted. WoW is void of challenge--the fast food of mmorpgs.<p>Message Edited by Fizloki on <span class=date_text>01-19-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:59 PM</span>

Bruiser is nice, I played a lot with a brawler friend in beta with my enchanter up till we got our subclasses and we did very well. They can tank well, and avoid a lot, and with you stunning/mezzing he can stay alive well and also bruisers get a self-only heal so they can extend their life a bit too.Their damage is alright too..

Mystic or Defiler I think by far. I duo yellow ^^ mobs with my defiler buddy with little difficulty. The good thing about shamans is their wards don't use your AC, they have an independant AC of their own. So even tho you are a caster in cloth, if you get agro they can keep you healed fairly easily. Especially once its power is drained. Shamans have decent dots, good debuffs and can heal. You keep yourself and the shaman breezed/refreshed, and supply the dps. Barring adds or stuff out of the ordinary, you are fairly unstoppable vs mobs of reasonable lvl.BTW im 35 atm and hes 34.<p>Message Edited by Dranlin1978 on <span class=date_text>01-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:33 AM</span>

<DIV>I'm quite partial to the Conjuror and Coercer combination.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With that the essentially duo group <EM>turns into </EM>-</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Main Tank</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Healer</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Crowd Control</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Conjuror DPS (interestingly, Conjuror DPS takes a backseat to Coercer's, as he is healing pet between our stun refreshes)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Coercer DPS (which is quite substantial) Despotic Mind does 313 w/gloom oftentimes, partner it with an HO and it takes 2 HO's for the mob to die.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Both classes fulfil the exact same HO requirements, HO's fly off in succession rapidly.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Although there is that 'pet dance' bug with the pets currently, with the Conjuror's Adept 3 Tellurian Solder and minion hate increasing spells, the pet can grab aggro from more than one mob. Much to the Coercer's dismay as pets break mezzes :smileysad:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Conjuror's at level 32 have 2 stuns, Petrify and Frozen by Time</DIV> <DIV>Coercers at level 30 (depending on mob level) have Daunting Gaze, Stupefy, Overwhelming Silence, and Unnerving Stare</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Both classes get a fast casting Root</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2up yellow mobs are very easy</DIV> <DIV>Group orange / yellow mobs of 4 or less, are easy and fun!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
