<DIV>I am 36 Coercer, and from time to time I find a mob likes me more than the tank no matter what he's doing to get their attention.  The best method to shake the offending attacker I have found is to get seperation.  How does one get seperation?  Well here is a few methods I use:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Blink:  This spell seems to fail more than it works until I figured out a trick to it.  Don't just hit Blink and hope for the best as it will most likely not work,  Instead as you hit it quick dart past the tank thus putting him between you and the attacker.  I have found by doing this I shake the attack most of the time as the tank will pick him up easily.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Stun:  Any stun will do that gives you a few seconds to flee from the attacker.  Again use the same method as above.  Make sure you run past the tank so the mob has to pass him to get to you.  While this isn't as effective as the Blink method it does work.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What other methods or tips do you guys have?  I am always interested self preservation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When all else fails run like mad and make sure you scream really loud and flail your hands about wildy.</DIV>

<DIV>I usually just make sure the creature hitting me is Stifled and then just wait and tank.  Around my level, the high end creatures are usually around around 400 damage in a normal attack when it can actually hit me.  When they're Stifled that's all they get, so I just wait and let the tank get agro back, while ensuring the creature stays Stifled so I don't suffer any sudden 1000+ damage hits.  If the healer is snoozing I'll stun as needed, or use Blink as an emergency exit, but normally I can just wait and tank.</DIV>

The number one thing I do is make sure I never cast a group buff before the tank has all aggro. I try to do it when we're not in an encounter. Also, as soon as I see a mob heading for me I stun them and then hit blink and try to run on the other side of the tank (as was said earlier in this thread). However, if it is more than one mob coming for me I try to do a mez and hope really hard I don't die. lol

Where did you find that information? The longer I keep something mezzed, the more it wants to smack me around when that mezz is broken. Thats how it was in EQ1 and from my observation, thats how it is in EQ2. Where does it state otherwise, because that sure isn't how it works in game.

<DIV>Peronal expirience...</DIV> <DIV>Longer mez = more agro easy to explain. Every time you mez you shake off agro of everyone by time mob get attacked you are the only person on hate list. On countary if mob already under attack but for some reason it agroed on you by mezing it you shaking agro (wiping you own <EM>previous</EM> hate as well)</DIV>

<DIV>I use Stun alot.  Timing is everything though and if in a group that is doing a HO I will try to time my stun to work within the HO wich should give high hate to the person finishing it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A couple of things though.  Be careful using the mezz in a fight.  You can kill a rogue quickly if you mezz while he is doing a high damage backstab and then gets aggro.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also try not to run around trying to shake aggro.  Nothing worse than having your tank try to get aggro back when you are running around.  Keep the mob positioned properly, especially in underground areas where if it gets into a wall it can not be targeted.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>FYI, if possible try rooting it and then backing away.  Sometimes a root will hold long enough to get you out of a tight spot.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The key is that you must never panic.  Panic kills far more groups than anything else when things do turn bad.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
