From the official guide:

Intelligence – Intelligence modifies how much damage your character inflicts with magic-based attacks.

Wisdom – The higher your character's wisdom, the more successful they will be at both landing and avoiding magic-based attacks.

1) Do you put everything into Intelligence, or is Wisdom just as important? I for one sure am starting to hate those bounces...
2) Does intelligence affect duration of CC spells etc, or is it only a multiplier for inflicted damage?

Regards,
Caife

Message Edited by Caife Woore on 12-26-2004 04:10 AM

As a mage, intelligence is your primary stat as it directly translates into power pool.

I think as a coercer wis is almost more important than int. Wisdom allows your spells not to get resisted, and if an add resists a mez it can result in debt.

In EQlive, chanters hv to balance a high Charisma and Int, as low Cha=more resist by mobs against mes/charm spells.

Not sure if Wis in EQ2 is similar to what Charisma is in EQlive though. My char has fairly low wis but I hv not notice too much resists.

Int does not increase duration. It directly affect mage's mana pool, and according to the FAQs, affect damage of magical attacks.

I am a level 29 coercer. So far I have been focusing on improving both my wisdom and my intelligence. I have decided to totally give up on the abilities that will help my mana regeneration as it is useless with our hp/mana conversion and breeze spell line - that's my opinion at least.

I myself have not been focusing on Wisdom. I do find that there are FAR more wisdom items and items that have int on them usually have the same amount and usually MORE sidom on them.

I find that gear is somewhat limited. Like I can't really go out at level 31 and say, I'm going to find a robe with some int on it. An appropriot robe with int on it does not exist to my knowlege. I find that for a specific slot, all gear tends to have the same stats (or very close to), with varying degrees.

IE I may have gotten a quest robe with STR+3 AGI+6 Health+20 Power+12 SvDisease+80 svmagic+120, alot of robes will have a str stats, agi stat, health, power disease and magic.... IE another quest robe... STR+4 AGI+8 Health+21 Power+24 SvDisease+192 SvMagic+192. I find this happening with a lot of slots, which doesn't really allow us to customize our stats too much.
