<DIV>For the most part I do a wonderful job targetting the mobs that need to be mezzed, however sometimes I'll accidently mez the mob the tank is going to attack first. The way I'm doing it right now is to click on the group of mobs that the tank is going to attack, then when he pulls I'll press tab and cycle through them to see which one has full life. This works most of the time, but sometimes the tank will pull with something that does not deal damage, or someone will AE making it difficult to tell which is the active target. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>How are you guys targetting? Are you having the same problems?</DIV>
<DIV>yes <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
Well for me, I use a /assist (tank name)macro which I change at the start of every group. Before he pulls I hit the macro and evaulate the mobs that are incoming. I position the camera view so only the team and the mobs that we are pulling are in my view, or try to at least. I then go on to pressing tab to cycle through the mob and mezzing each one, and as I wait for mez to recharge I hit the macro again and stack on my DoTs to help out a bit. Then I return to pressing tab to cycle and keep mezzes upkept. It seems like alot but if you know what you're doing you can be finishing up your mezzing even before the healer has to heal. But yah, thats how I do it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> though in some situations you might want to use reticle to target.<p>Message Edited by gimmy on <span class=date_text>12-13-2004</span> <span class=time_text>02:26 AM</span>
<DIV>I use arrow and glowing on implied target. So i target the tank, see what he is on and mez the rest</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vlav Tox server</DIV>
<DIV>I do a couple things to make it easier, set the implied target arrow to probably like 20% size and 80% density/color, take off the name borders for everything except for targeted, targeting rings to 100% and set implied target to glow, 90%. This allows me to see either before or as the tank pulls what mob is going to be attacked. Doesn't work as well for things like faries or skelis, but thats just means i can't target my first mez as far out as I'd like to. After that I usually use the mouse to target, some things have to be tabbed through like the enchanted tomes.</DIV> <DIV>Something I found is that if you are cycling through with tab you may not be able to get targets father away, in front of tanks and such, just click your tank and then tab - it will start your cycle from infront of whomever you have targeted. Also f8 will target closest npc, can be helpful sometimes as well.</DIV>
Once you have engaged the current set of mobs, your tab will cycle thru those mobs only.I find that if I assist the tank, and use a quick spell (usually a dot, sometimes a stifle, whatever... usually low agro spells). Then, I can tab to cycle thru other mobs in that set without a problem.I also like to turn on the target arrows, in addition to the implied target arrows, and the target encounter "glow" effect, so that all the mobs linked with my target pulse... but that just helps me to visually see what is happening.

<DIV>This is more of a follow up question that has to do with targetting. I am a coercer22, and usually find mob that tank is on , tab -mezz-tab-fasc-tab-daunting gaze...and so on.</DIV> <DIV>But tab seems to be working inconsistently...sometimes only stays on mobs in encounter, other times jumps to other mobs' ....then have new aggro's ...which is a problem when they're say giants or something else that hits hard. using mouse is too unreliable and sometimes hard to target mob, so i'm using tab and trying to make sure not mezzing other mob's ....but inevitably end up making a mistake here or there which can be either trivial ....................or worse (please see WIPEOUT).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would like to hear other's experiences in this area using tab and getting outside the encounter mob's or not and how to deal with this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

I made a previous statement, but after testing a little more, I realize it was off, so I've revised it.I've done this... my group wiped. Using the "Next NPC" and "Previous NPC" commands, you can usually stay within an encounter, but not always. Yes, it's very annoying and I don't see being able to scroll through mobs regardless of which encounter they're in as being more useful than limiting it to the encounter you've targeted.<p>Message Edited by kil5t3lr on <span class=date_text>12-16-2004</span> <span class=time_text>10:12 PM</span>

<DIV>i made an /assist macro and then used hotkeys to put it on the same key that my auto attack key was on..</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so.. when the tank is going to pull i target him, then press my assist / auto attack key and it both puts me on the mob that the tank is targetting and also locks the encounter. it works pretty well, but if you do this it's important to have another key assigned to auto attack alone as well so that you can turn it off once you've mezed the first mob so that you dont break your own mezes by attacking if they get too close to you.</DIV>
