<div></div><div></div>I am leveling up an illusionist for raids and have the AGI line finished, I am starting to notice some resists on Chronosiphoning on yellow mobs (I'm only level 45-50ish atm). Seeing as this is pretty key along with Perp for doing dps, is it gonna be crucial to get 8 points in that? Way I see it I either max Chronosiphon and Spell crits, or max neither and take Volatile Magic. If I am gonna face alot of resists on chrono that sorta makes my mind up. Basically Not sure if I should go 4-8-5-4-8 AGI, 4-4-4-8 INT or instead go 4-5-4-4-8 AGI, 4-4-4-4-8 INT. Thanks! <div></div><p>Message Edited by Caetrel on <span class="date_text">01-17-2007</span> <span class="time_text">05:08 AM</span></p><p>Message Edited by Caetrel on <span class=date_text>01-17-2007</span> <span class=time_text>05:16 AM</span>

I'd say that eventually you're gonna want something in your off hand. Now, losing the item in your off hand not only costs you the stats on that item, but the potential adornment slot as well, which can be substantial for secondary / ranged items.<div></div>

<DIV>If you REALLY want to put out the MAX dps possible, go perpet+volatile magic. On raids the mob are going to be debuffed enough that u wont really get resists on chronosiphoning. BUT, if u are tired of the sprinting to 30% and whatever, and it doesnt matter if u lose like 100-200 DPS, then u might as well go with perpet+chronosiphoning+crits as ur maxed skills.</DIV>

TY. We're shifting around classes to round out our raid force without recruiting. Main goal is increased DPS, and we currently have no regular Illusionist. The important thing is that my buffs and eof AAs add to the raid, but I wanna max my damage as well. Thing that concerns me about volatile magic is I will have lame gear for awhile, labs gear etc...so I don't know how viable sprinting down is gonna be at first. Also won't have much proc gear at first. What I will have is 100 AAs and looking to hit the ground running. I will be in a troub/fury/illusionist/summoner/sorc/rogue group most of the time so the important thing is their dps. So sounds like I should run all the way down the INT and AGI lines and throw the 50th point in spell crits if I really wanna hit it hard? <div></div>

Sprinting is for the FT tanked uber - if you are starting out on raiding then your power bar will drop fine by itself, just due to Perpetuality, and chain casting everything. Thats what I've found anyway (but I'm new to raiding as an illusionist, and I'm sadly never grouped with a troubador). I run out of things to cast without even hitting chronosiphoning - although hex dolls can fill the gaps<div></div>

And the only REAL difference between labs gear and all the other gear (in KoS at least) is that others have added procs on them. Get urself the Xavizwhatever gown of glory from nest and ull be fine. Just remember to sprint down to like 38%, and then use mana flow on urself right at the start of the fight. By the time ur mana is out, itll boost u back up to just under 30% again. Then u can cast savante, and right before savante runs out cast mana flow again. U should be fine on most fight, excluding maybe cheldrak, matron, wuoshi, and things like that.
