I found out, that time compression cannot be cast on myself. When inspecting the spell it says that target is: group friend.I had exspected that this time compression is castable on myself but it isn't. I thought that this would be correct and started to make a new concept for skilling my char.I made use of the free reset for my Illusionist AA and choose the AA-Line which gives "a single group friend" 25% double attack at the end. When testing this new AA Line I noticed that the 25% double attack can be cast on myself. This made no sence at all so I read in the official forums and found time compression mentioned as bugged.I spent my free AA reset because of a bug. How can I get time compression back when it is fixed and can be cast on myself? Please think about another free reset option. I don't want ot pay for a reset because of a bug...

I have noticed this also- being on a pvp server it would be great to have this buff working right. I already have it, and want to put it on myself for pvp.

I should of posted bout it earlier, but i been slacking.

Lets go hook it up and let us cast it on ourselves already

do it

krip

70 illus

You guys should read the spell description. It says for 1 ally, not for yourself, but for an ally. It is not a bug.

The spell descritption of Time Compression is exactly the same as the description of this 25% double attack thing. Both are final AA spells, single target and can only be cast on one target. And I can buff myself with 25% double attack but not with time compression.Either one of those spells is buggy or on of their descriptions. They have identically descriptions but do not behave the same. I haven't seen any other spell in EQ2 that cannot be cast on yourself if it works on others. That's why I think that this is buggy

"I haven't seen any other spell in EQ2 that cannot be cast on yourself if it works on others." Never played a tank class? They've all got a spell (er, CA) like that. Additionally, they can't be cast on any kind of pet, only actual players. Pretty sure all the hate xfer spells say either 'raid friend' or 'group friend' also, though most people wouldn't cast one on themselves... Expecting SoE to add a 'group friend other than self' and 'group friend other than self or pet' tag for a few spells is silly, if only because that should be waaaaaaaaay down at the bottom of the list of fixes the game needs...

I wouldn't say it's that silly. If it's only a description change to a few spells then it's not even that much work.

I know nothing about tanks and care even less. I've only played an Illusionist, and am scratching my head to think of any of my other buffs that I cannot cast on myself as well as others, or even on my pet for that matter. Haste and Synergism work just fine. Why should this ability be the odd one out?

The description should probably call out that it can't be cast on yourself.

An interesting thing that I've noticed: with the caster time reduction on shimmering beam and prismtic chaos and the time reduction till DD on brainburst, I rarely if ever find myself out of spells to cast. So would we really benefit from time compression? The increased casting speed and cool down timer would speed up the amount of spells we could churn out in a set time frame, but I'm only seeing the recast timer portion coming into play on solar shower. I'm thinking that there may be better classes to receive this anyway that can use all 3 parts. Thoughts?

first of all, you can have both, Time compression and the "25% double attack buff", so there is no need to get a new free respec.

you can spend 50 points in the illu tree, so you need 21 to get time compression and 21 to get the "25%"-buff, what leaves 8 points free in the illu-tree =)

sure, hard work to get 92 advanced points, but you will be able to get em. still missing 6points to hit the "25%"-buff, so i cant confirm wheter i can cast the buff on myself or not, but if you say the description of time compression and the buff are the same, there should be also the same behavior of the spell =)

due to the lack of translation english - german, i am not sure if the spell works as intended if i finally get it

Time Compression should be castable on myself, thats true. in times of soloing i would rather cast time compression on myself than on my pet. for grouping, there are better classes to cast time compression on, e.g. healers or wizzis. crazy nuking wizzis with time compression and synergism HAR

Time compression on yourself would make the AGI kos line all in one nice buff. That's why you can't and won't ever be able to self cast it.

It stacks with everything, however there is a cap of 100% on Cast/Recovery/Recast haste.
