<DIV> <DIV>Since Fizwick has been MIA for quite some time, I figured I'd write up an updated post on Illusionist problems. Some of the things listed here are obvious bugs, some are just general complaints, and others are things that some of us would like to see happen just for fun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000>Items in red are code bugs, where the code is more than obviously not "working as intended", and should be adressed ASAP.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00>Items in yellow are game bugs. These are bugs that arise due to game mechanics, not bad code - similar to the "Guardians tanking in cloth" situaion.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#66ff00>Items in green are suggestions - things that Illusionists would like to see sometime in the future, although they do not necessarily hurt the current gameplay.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=5><STRONG>1. <U>General Illusionist Skills and Spells</U></STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000 size=4><STRONG>The Devitalizing Line of Spells</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- The level 20 spell "Devitalizing Glance" and the level 34 spell "Devitalizing Gaze" do not automatically add to the spell book at those levels, as do all other spells level 50 and below.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Add these spells to the "stuff to do when the player dings this level" list.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Unkown</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000 size=4><STRONG>Color Shower / Solar Shower Not Procing "successful spell attack" Procs</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Color Shower and Solar Shower do not proc any procs requiring a "successful spell attack" (not to be confused wih "successful hostile spell"), even those procs with a 100% proc rate. They are cast directly on the mob, the damage portion appears first in the effects description, and they do a lot of our damage at those levels. They should be considered spell attacks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Tag these spells as spell attacks in addition to hostile spells, with the stifle only considered a secondary effect.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Unkown</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ff0000 size=4><STRONG>Drain Will and Sap Will Heroic Opportunity Icons</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- The heroic opportunity icons for the level 41 spell "Drain Will" and the level 55 spell "Sap Will" are lightning bolts, while the icons for the rest of the spell in that line are stars.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Change the HO icon for these two spells to stars, or change the icons of the other spells to thunderbolts for consistency.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Unkown</DIV></DIV></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00 size=4><STRONG>Casting Illusory Allies Kills Illusionist Before Memwipe</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- If the mob Illusory Allies is cast on kills the pet it is targeting (the one on the top of the hate list), the hate is transferred to the Illusionist. With the Illusionist now at the top of the hate list, the mob instantly turns to attack the Illusionist before the other pets are dead. When this happens, the Illusionist is killed before the memwipe effect gets applied, thereby cancelling the spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Do not transfer aggro from pet duplicates to the Illusionist, and apply memwipe when spell is cast, not at termination. The Illusionist will remain on the hate list due to casting the memwipe anyway, so the same effect will be provided without the early death.</DIV> <DIV>- If aggro transfer from the dumbfire duplicates to the Illusionist is too hard coded in the game mechanics to change just for one spell, another solution would be to apply a memwipe every time one of the pets dies.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Unkown</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#ffff00 size=4><STRONG>Spellshield Unusable Against Most Caster Mobs</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Not all profession spells cast by mobs are reflected by Spellshield. An example would be "Call of Storms" from the Dryad (forget the name) in Emerald Halls, even though it is a known Fury spell.</DIV> <DIV>- Spellshield does not protect against non-profession spells (as the Troubador's Requiem of Reflection does), which make up approximately 90% of mob abilities.</DIV> <DIV>- Due to these two problems, this spell is useless against every mob in the game that matters. Yes it might work on certain regular solo and heroic mobs, but even most heroic "named" mobs do not get their spells reflected, making this spell nothing more than a detriment to mana.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Tag all profession spells from mobs as profession spells where they should be, or change their names so that they do not get mistaken.</DIV> <DIV>- Allow absorption instead of reflection of non-profession spells in the way the Troubador's "Requiem of Reflection" does.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Unkown</DIV></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#66ff00 size=4><STRONG>Savante Toggable</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Savante is currently toggable, where the recast timer starts after the spell has expired. Although this isnt necessarily a problem, obtaining AAs to increase duration inadvertently allow this spell to be cast less frequently. Duration is increased, yes, but so is the entire cycle of casting+duration+recast. With less frequent casts, we can use Mana Flow in conjunction with it less often, thereby decreasing our self regen (not the group's, but our own). We have no reason to ever toggle this spell off when we cast it, so there is no purpose for it to stay toggable except to make us click it off by accident once in a while.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Make Savante non-toggable, and allow the recast to start counting down after the spell has been cast as opposed to after it has expired. To make up for the discrepency, 30 seconds could be added to the recast timer so that it is effectively the same (when no AAs have been put into that skill).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Claimed not to be a bug. However, we already know this, but would like it modified as such anyway since it doesnt change the actual abilities of the spell itself.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#66ff00 size=4><STRONG>Mana Cloak (Master I) Not Available</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Although this is more of a complaint about an adventure pack and the availability of certain skills to all classes, it would be nice to be able to get Mana Cloak (Master I) at some point in time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Add Mana Cloak (Master I) as a dropped item, even if it can only be found in the Bloodlines Chronicles adventure pack zones.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Dev Status:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Unkown</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#66ff00 size=4><STRONG>Coercer Spell "Dominate" Still In Spell Book</STRONG></FONT></DIV> <DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Problem:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- When DoF launched, the level 47 Coercer spell "Dominate" was scribable by Illusionists. And some of us did scribe it, forever leaving it unusable in our spell book even after the fix.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><STRONG><EM><U>Proposed Solution:</U></EM></STRONG></DIV> <DIV>- Scan and clean the Illusionist entries in the character databases to remove this spell from spellbooks. Time Compression I'm pretty sure isn't a bug that we can't cast it on ourself. As reading the effect it says "You are able to compress a single ally's perception of time,.....", which to me means that it's group friend and not ourself. On Quickening, the Description says it increases both double attack(chance at auto-attack striking twice), and critical melee(chances at critical melee damage), while of course the effect says double attack and DPS, so yah that needs to be looked at, I'd prefer critical melee chance over DPS to be honest. But yah, the rest I agree with.

<DIV>yeah time compression isnt a bug i dont think either, why i highlighted it green to list it as "stuff wed like to see done but aint really a bug" <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

I still say that AoE mez should not block out AoE mez. Until I hear explicitly from a dev that this is the intended behavior, I will keep hope alive that it will be fixed someday.

<DIV>that was actually a big issue with us when they changed it with the CC nerf. they changed it from a 4 target maximum but doesnt block AoE to what it is now. of course the resistability got nerfed a couple times as well, but that was the change. And it was even explained like that in the update notes.</DIV>

If you could cast time on yourself it would give you most of the KoS AGI line in one buff. Hense probably why you can't.
