Ive got my Illusionists to 30, and they are doing pretty well, but I really havent been putting any consideration to controlling them.I AE mez a group of mobs, /target nearest, /assist, send in pets, nuke until dead. /target nearest, /assist, repeat. But Im thinking that my pets are using some defaults that I might not want to have up. They sometimes automatically switch to the next mob and break mez before Im ready.Do any of you have macros that help control the pet better? Maybe setting defaults after you summon the personae, or commands that you put into /pet attack commands that keep the guy in line? There wouldnt be any command for targetting the nearest unmezzed mob would there? Sometimes difficult to see which mob is not mezzed in a tight group.Maybe it would be helpful to put the /pet backoff in the same macro as the /pet attack?I Alacrity my pets, so I do like having them melee, I just want to make targetting and control a bit more efficient in my command macros.Suggestions appreciated. Thanks,Mal

So is there a command for turning off autoprotect? Or do you just do it through the pet bar?I would like to put it into some of my buffing macros to insure it gets done upon summoning. Thanks,

Pet attack/pet backoff on one macro could be useful if it didn't interrupt the pet and you wanted to keep your pet from charging forward. So /pet attack would start him casting and /pet backoff would tell him to not cast additional spells after this one. That isn't how the command works though. /pet backoff actually interrupts your pets casting. Implemented this way, your pet does nothing but interrupt himself constantly. On the plus side, he immediately stops casting when you tell him to back off, so theoretically you can mez without your pet breaking it a second later... if you don't DoT the mob.

It is always best to clicky on the pet auto-protect you, and pet auto-protect itself icons in your pet window to turn them off. I do this by habit. Actually, if you copied the green pet back-off icon into your hotbar, this does it automatically.

If you are taking on a group of 3 non-heroic mobs, blue con or lower, try the following:

AoE mez the trio.

Send pet into nearest mob.

Send construct into next mob.

Root the third mob.

While stil targeting the third mob, cast AoE nuke #1+ AoE stun + AoE nuke #2 + AoE Mana sieve

When root breaks, cast prismatic and melee the third mob mob.

Enjoy the rush of mayhem with a backdrop of rainbow colored flashing bits of arcane magic in the air.
