I'm pretty new, and i'm looking at a broker right now that has a spell named 'Stupefy' that I didn't get leveling up. It says it is a level 16 Illusionist spell, and that I can scribe it. But it is reallllly expensive. I did some searching and it looks like they took this spell away from Illusionists a long time ago, but yet it says I can scribe it still?Whats the deal? I dont want to waste a ton of money just to find out I can't use this.

Did you get a stun at level 16? It's probably a left-over from when both chanter subclasses shared the 10-19 spells and would scribe as whatever you already have at level 16.

Stupefy was pretty nice if I remember correctly, a very quick casting stun. But yeah it would just give you the current L16 spell if scribed now-a-days.

As others have already said, that spell is an old scroll from before LU13.

If you buy it and scribe it into your spellbook, you will end up with whatever new spell was assigned to illusionists after LU13.

For example, I scribed a Master 1 "Charm" scroll that was on the broker after LU13. In my spellbook, instead of Master 1 Charm, I received Master 1 Personae. Obviously, before LU13, coercers and illusionists were both simply called "enchanters" and had the same spells. Illusionists lost Charm after LU13 and gained our personnae in its place.

A friend of mine left the game over a year ago and when he came back, he had a bunch of spells on his vendor mule with their old names. He puts one or two of those spells up on the broker for a ton of money, and people end up buying them thinking that they are getting something rare that they were missing. So, beware of those old spells.
