I pretty much play and level.  I make my AppIV upgrades for everything, and have a total of 1 Adept III (Personae Split).  Im wearing my 5th lv white tailored robe, and the occasional items Ive found on quests or loot. But Im starting to think about upgrading my gear, and was wondering if anyone has any specific recommendations on quest loots that an Illusionist should get.Any recommendations on quests and loot that you guys think are of importance?Thanks,<div></div>

Well I got the Dwarven work boots from the HQ and most of the armour quest stuff in my 20s. Since the AQ stuff is class specific it is pretty decent. In Qeynos the AQs were given by a guy in the garden of the monk place in Eldar Grove. <div></div>

<DIV>I don't look for quests based on the reward, so if anything comes out of a quest that is useful to me then that's a bonus. I simply buy my upgrades off the broker and look to see what I'm falling behind on and what's available.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>You'd probably do better getting some Adept 1, Adept 3 and Master 1 upgrades for those App 4s before worrying too much about gear (especially with the mez as you have a decent level pet), but so far as gear is concerned I'd guess my Illusionist at your level was equipped mainly with stuff in the low 20's, and he probably hasn't upgraded more than half of it by his present level of 34.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I still haven't kitted out all my characters with a second earring or cloak, and none of them has yet chosen a Deity. I find that with decent spell/skill upgrades (financed by loot and low-level harvested rares) I can solo/duo very effectively. Everything else is optional really.</DIV>

There is a questline in Firemyst Gulley for a nice 1-H weapon with a decent proc that you can do at level 20 and will last you through the 20's.</P> <P>Before you ding 30, make sure you spend a lot of time in Stormhold and farm all the named mobs. You will probably pick up some spell upgrades, and definately pick up cash loot.  In your high 30's, make sure to spend some time farming named mobs in Varsoon. In your high 40's, you will want to farm the hell out of RunnyEye. In your 50's you can farm Cazic Thule. Keep whatever is an upgrade for you, and sell the rest. Use the money to fund your future upgrades.</P> <P>The great thing about illusionists is that we don't really need uber gear to be successful. I would focus on spells before focusing on gear. AppIV is not ok - you are making life a lot harder than it has to be by using junky spells. Go ahead and splurge on the rare component to get your spells to AdeptIII - you will definately appreciate the added damage and lowered resists. Besides, you will want to level your sage as you go, so why not make yourself some good stuff? My illusionist is a tailor, and you beter believe he wears no less than mastercrafted armor and hex dolls.</P> <P>For gear, just concentrate on +INT. You will do fine if you purchase a set of mastercrafted upon reaching each new tier, but even a set of common crafted will work. Just make sure all of your important spells are at Adept III. </P>

<div></div>Thanks for the comments guys.  Dinged 30th last night just finishing off the grey areas in Nek Forest I missed, and getting some more AA XP.I ran into the HQ quest guy in Eldar grove and took a quest from him.  I think I will knock those out first.  Maybe check out the Firemyst Gulley weapon quest.I didnt mention, but I three box Illusionists, so its not like Im really soloing.  Three Illusionists can pretty much keep everything I take on stunned, stifled and dazed.  And I keep Fleeting Thoughts up all the time, so I dont have much in the way of resists, and my int is up 55pts.  Fleeting Thoughts and Personae Split are my only Adept IIIs.I also stopped into The Enchanted Lands.  The mobs seemed pretty perfect level/difficulty wise for me.  33-34.  Quite a few quests on the docks and surrounding area.  I really went there to do some T4 harvesting, as my new pet is 33rd, so I need three rare stones for that.  So I think I will have to stop back there once I upgrade my armor. My main crafter is a Sage, but I do have an outfitter going for Tailor and another Scholar I will make a Jeweler.  I was going for having all my own made armor and jewelry, but gotta say that keeping three crafters up to my level proved impossible time wise.  The Sage is 30th though, and not too bad to keep leveled.  I might have to take some time and get the other two guys up a bit.  I really would like to have my own made gear, but it is a time constraint. Thanks again,<div></div><p>Message Edited by Faelos on <span class=date_text>11-27-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:41 AM</span>
