<DIV>I maxxed out my new Illusionists AAs - at three - and must spend them to gain any more. A brief bit of exposition: my main is a bruiser, and the brawler AAs are all pretty good. Still, it makes a great deal of sense to start in Strength, as it is somewhat like having perpetually upgrading fabled weapons (minus that stat bonuses, of course.) What I want to know, is there a good default for Illusionists? I figure Intelligence, since that'll increase your power pool, though is that such a necessity for a class that practically manufactures mana? Knowing that you can respec later, if things change, where would you spend your first AAs? And are any of the EoF ones worth a look for a 14th level Illusionist, or would you stick with the KoS ones? Eventually, I like the INT end ability, and the Chronomancer abilities, but I really need to read more on these boards about them. Until then, I need to put those three points SOMEWHERE :smileyvery-happy: Any help is appreciated!</DIV>

well, i am a very new illusionist, have a 70 warden. warden imo has crappy aa's, while i have seen the illusionist aa's seem pretty good. i started in the eof tree with the chronomancer stuff, trying to get the chronomancer end ability first for reduced casting and recasting. i may be off my rocker tho hehe. as you say we can always respec later.

Yah, I'm hoping some of those Ueber-experienced ninja death Illusionists have an idea. The Chronomancer just sounds neat, but as a Fae, I am not sure that I can take it as a last name. Be like a halfling shadowknight with the name of Deathstalker Doomgiver... just doesn't fit :smileyvery-happy:

In my opinion, the best pre-EoF AA's are the DEX line (chronosiphoning, etc.). The STA line is decent if you're raiding (increase group's heal crit, decrease group's aggro). The rest are... blah. With the EoF AA's, I'm focusing on the damage AA's (reduce recast time for main nuke, increase speed or damage of the DoTs, etc.). So long as you keep your mez line upgraded, you shouldn't have a problem with resists. I don't remember the other EoF choices off hand.Since you're just starting, I'd recommend focusing on pre-EoF or post-EoF AA's until you get the 'special' ability for that line. Since I prefer extra DPS for illusionists, I'd recommend you focus on the pre-EoF DEX line until you get the final ability or the post-EoF damage line.Sadari<div></div>

<DIV>Since you are lvl 14, im assuming u want group oriented AAs.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>KoS AAs:</DIV> <DIV>To increase DPS, perpetuality is a big help, so u can actually keep up with those big spike DPS scouts and heavy hitting sorcs and get some spells off before a mob dies. I guess Emphatic Soothing might be nice too just in case u get into a pickup group with a bad tank itll help a bit (just make sure that anyone with amends on cancels the buff). Sever Empathy / Daydream are good also if u wanna pull without getting social aggro.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>EoF AAs:</DIV> <DIV>For DPS go Time and Enchanting. Otherwise maybe Penetration (anyone else find this name a bit perverted?) if u really insist on mezzing and stuff. The Illusions line is just.....useless.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But as for raiding its a no-brainer.....INT 4/4/4/5/8 + AGI 4/4/4/4/8 if u got lots of spell procs, INT 4/4/48/8 + AGI 4/8/4/4 if u dont. And then Time and Enchanting lines for sure.</DIV>
