<DIV>I play a 35 Coercer (locked) on PvP... man, what a fun class to play!  Especially in PvP when people don't expect to get their [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] handed to them by an Enchanter!  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So with EoF's release I get some more character slots to play on my main PvE server (Najena).  Of course it's going to be an Enchanter of some type, but which is the question.  Most of my guild will be betraying, so I'm not limiting my new rece class to only goodie.  I know the Coercer spells up to 35 very well, so I wanted to post here to understand the differences better.  I'm leaning towards an illusionist to just play something different.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1.  Assuming both the coercer and illusionist have Master I (Charm) and Pet, which has better DPS?  I guess the type of mob you charm comes in to play, so assume a wizard/warlock type.  I would think coercer's pet, just because it can be a pain to get and manage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2.  Does your pet offer anything besides additional damage?  defensive vs offensive stances, taunts, etc...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3.  What do you do better then a Coercer?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4.  Any hate transfer or is it all hate reducers?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>5.  Raid setups I always see Coercers, are they perferred over Illusionists?  Or is that because my guild doesn't have any.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance for your response and input.</DIV> <P>Message Edited by Balrok on <SPAN class=date_text>11-14-2006</SPAN> <SPAN class=time_text>08:27 AM</SPAN></P><p>Message Edited by Balrok on <span class=date_text>11-14-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:29 AM</span>

<P>1 - Depends on the group, AAs, deity, gear, mob charmed, mob being fought.......but basically it comes down to the fact that DPS is more of an Illu job than a coercer job, and in all practicality they are better at it. Illus do it well, Coercers just get really lucky once in a while.</P> <P>2 - stun, stifle, root, aoe stifle, daze, nuke, mana drains, melees</P> <P>3 - DPS, and a slight (and i mean very slight) advantage on mezzing. mana regen is arguably similar, and because of the nature of savante it cant exactly be determined. Coercers do give more straight up regen (and channel is f'n awesome), but savante might just give illus an edge if the group realy really tries to burn mana when its up. This is all arguable, although id say coercers win on it.</P> <P>4 - no hate transfer, no hate reducer (well, except the AA that coercers get too). synergism is also a hate reduc proc i guess, but i consider it more 'free damage' than a hate reduc, since the values of the damage and hate reduc are close</P> <P>5 - if u can only get one enchatner at a raid, it should be a coercer, no doubt about it. but if u have a coercer, the second enchanter should be an illusionist. after that, it really just depends on what buffs you want for the remaining 2 groups.</P>
