View Full Version : The new and "improved" proc rates.
<DIV>Basing on a post by a troubador who did some tests with their Aria line(30% chance to proc), here are the new rates of procs for our spells based on Dynamism(33%).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>0.2s cast spells, 0% chance PHASE!</DIV> <DIV>0.5s cast spells, 1.8% chance Our emergency mez</DIV> <DIV>1.0s cast spells, 16.5% chance Which is the majority of our spells, huge nerf there.</DIV> <DIV>1.5s cast spells, 19.3%? chance Our mezzes.</DIV> <DIV>2.0s cast spells, 22% chance Our AoEs, a nuke, our stifle, construct</DIV> <DIV>2.5s cast spells, 33% chance None of our spells, included mostly for comparison that is the new "base."</DIV> <DIV>3.0s cast spells, 47.1% chance Devitalizing Line.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The real question is, The Prismatic Havoc line. It effectively has 0 cast time. Which means, after this change, 0% chance to proc, either way pretty crappy. Now if we have our old 10% chance to proc items here's the new chances:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>0.2s, 0%</DIV> <DIV>0.5s, 0.6%</DIV> <DIV>1.0s, 5%</DIV> <DIV>1.5s, 5.9%?</DIV> <DIV>2.0s, 6.7%</DIV> <DIV>2.5s, 10%</DIV> <DIV>3.0s, 14.3%</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Which means, why bother with proc items, stats are all that matter for us after this change.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh, and the Aria line proc rates:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>0.2s, 0%</DIV> <DIV>0.5s, 1.7%</DIV> <DIV>1.0s, 15%</DIV> <DIV>1.5s, 17.5%?</DIV> <DIV>2.0s, 20%</DIV> <DIV>2.5s, 30%</DIV> <DIV>3.0s, 42.9%</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The numbers on the 1.5s could be off, as the person did not test any 1.5s cast spells(don't think troubadors have any).</DIV>

<DIV>I wonder what formula they are using to calculate proc chance is it based on casting time or hasted casting time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Troubs can haste casting times for the group so in effect it would make sorcers proc more then enchanters now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Precice note and the wizard buff still are good on Illusionist because we can cast atleast 7 spells in 12 seconds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For people asking about DPS a chanter does too much right now from procs. Lets look at what Tier 1 does, ~1300DPS, Tier 2, ~1000, sooo, by that Tier 3 should be someplace around 750. You have to remember that our "high" DPS is also not truley ours. That Dissonant Note damage doesn't really count towards us, it counts towards the troubador. You have to look at what our damage is by us alone, not by what our damage shows up as.</P> <P>And so 1/3rd of our damage comes from procs, big deal. Our damage is already balanced around procs, because just look at how small our nukes are, they hit for diddly squat.</P>

<DIV>Before LU13 we were buff bots.</DIV> <DIV>LU13 made us gods.</DIV> <DIV>Soon after, we werent gods anymore, but could easily outdps anyone when grouped with a troub and bruiser. Or in PPR.</DIV> <DIV>Then the bruiser procs were nerfed, so we became pure afk buff bots.</DIV> <DIV>Then we discovered perpetuality, and became DPS gods again.</DIV> <DIV>Now its all being nerfed to complete SH**, and we are screwed into being afk buff bots again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Im about to head over to the spells/abilities forum and start something up there if no1 did already, this is rediculous.</DIV>

Let's not forget this change totally makes the agility line completely useless for procs =P. <div></div>

I dont play a chanter and I didnt do any test. But I know melee haste doesnt reduce the chance to proc each swing (you actually proc twice as often with 100% haste since the % to proc a swing doesnt change)... so maybe spell haste wont do it either?<BR>

I think (think!) the bard boards have logs proving that the Trob's cast speed boost buff reduces spell procs even further, so the AGIL line prolly suffers also.

Yeah this next updates gonna be a bummer on my illusionist and swashy. Now to be brutally honest they needed to nerf the swashy DPS no matter how much they whine on that forum, but i really see no need to nerf illusionists DPS but then I havn't played with the agil AA line. All i can imagine is that they didnt mean to nerf illusionist but we got borked while they nerfed someone else. Someone somewhere is whining about someone elses dps and the nerf bat came out to shut em up. Its pretty bloody depressing sometimes.

I hope that after they do this change they see the effect it causes and change the classes effected accordingly.<p>Message Edited by Barobrain on <span class=date_text>04-25-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:30 AM</span>

Your'e hoping that they might let us mez epics out of sympathy? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
I can't imagine a spell proc nerf being aimed mainly at anyone other than enchanters. Nobody casts as quickly and frequently as we do. They just dumped too much easily obtainable spell proc gear into the expansion and now the enchanters and troubadors gotta pay the price.

<DIV>Illusionists are getting hit the worst, since we have several spells with, technically, a 0 casting time (pris havoc procs, migrane proc, and the interrupt at the end of untraviolet storm)</DIV> <DIV>Coercers are just as screwed, only they are lucky enough not to actually HAVE a spell proc as a skill, cuz its gonna be almost useless</DIV> <DIV>Then Troubadors, cuz they literally depend on spell procs for DPS, especially when solo.</DIV> <DIV>Then Warlocks, cuz of multiple procs on aoes</DIV> <DIV>Then Wizards</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The effects on any1 else isnt anything to complain about.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But illus are definately getting screwed over the worst.</DIV>
