If they gave it to us then they'd have to make mobs that weren't fooled by feign death and then all the other classes that get it would hate us. :smileyvery-happy:

Heh, that would be hilarious to turn into something and it acted like FD. I doubt it would ever happen. But why not give us that ability anyway? Turn into some random object in zone but just as a fluff spell....heck we are Illusionists...

Lol... considering I played a Monk in EQ1, FD is near and dear to my heart. However, my Illusionist has taken root in me and FD would be a contradiction to her purpose. Why would any Illusionist FD when we could simply lock the mobs down? Ok, given our abilities weren't ineffective against the mobs. Just the thought of dumping agro on another toon in my group when my job is to crowd control just seems wrong.

As for the illusion of an inanimate object... that would ROCK! It would definately fit the class. Just another tree in the forest eh? Well, if you overlook the sparklie hoola hoop... maybe so.

Kailen

Yeah... that would be a blast. I remember in EQ1, I had a bit of a mean streak in me. I would drop a bag on the edge of the platforms in the tree city and wait for the noobs to go pick it up. When they got close, I would cast a knockback and blow them off the edge. KERSPLAT!

Or giving them a mana rod when they didn't have the HP to use it... or a gate potion to CT! OMG... that one turned out to be one wicked little joke considering they moved mobs from PoF into the temple where you popped up. Almost as good as picking a fight with a Scion with my monk, FD'n and asking for a heal or buff while we were still in range of it. KERPOW!! I couldn't tell you how many people I got with that one!

Lol... I laughed my butt off at the fun of charming the Priest of Discord and making it kill the noobies.

Course I always had my lvl 70 cleric loaded up to 'undo' my evil ways with 96% rez's and buffs to soothe any bad will.

Kailen

Message Edited by junzu on 04-03-200601:11 PM

One of the original three pre-beta spells listed for illusionists was Illusory Terrain. Basically an evac.

Group or Self? No matter, that would have been a nice little 'fun' spell to have. Lol... of course, someone would have tried to work it into group/raid strat until they discovered it dropped 100% agro on the mob and it complete-healed, and reset. And the result would have been numerous threads about how useless a spell it was.

PS. Take it easy Illusionists... I am mildly poking fun.

Kailen

I think of the illusionists FD, as more a 15-30 second phase where you appear like little more than a wooden chest, (they appear everywhere anyways, lol) so woudlnt be too non-feasible. Im sure brawlers would throw a fit, but for a butter-ball mage could really make the difference in some cases.(my luck a spawn would Sit there till i came back up, lol)

No where near original. But I think the ability is total fluff and entertaining while giving some meaning to the class "Illusionist".

How good is the bruiser mez? Recast duration power cost?

Also, now that I think about this I kind of agree. I mean it does fit our class. We use illusions to confuse our enemies. So if I turn myself into a plant maybe that monster would walk away....

But sony is always thinking about balance. I don't think anyone one person in this forum knows EVERY single class ability and the exacts to that ability....recast..duration...power. There is alot to think about here. You may think you deserve such and such ability. But how does that effect balance?

It is just something to take into consideration.

Message Edited by Barobrain on 04-14-2006 06:23 AM

Not chain-castable unless you have two Bruisers, but easily able to break up an encounter or hold off an add for a while.

Been /feedbacking for FD spell myself. Invisibilty has lost a lot usefulness and so has grp invis which used to be one our best utility spells is now starting go the way of so many other enchanter spells with at least t7 dungeons filled with mobs that see invis.

Anyway would be nice if we would get FD that would actually be based on our class name illusionist.

I think the problem with this is. Ok lets say we DO get a FD with a 15-30 minute recast (for balance) and it works for 2 minutes or so...

Are we happy then? Do our balance issues vanish in epic encounters? I don't think so. I think most illusionsts that have any kind of a problem have a problem with EPIC encounters. Now we may have another function with FD in a raid too simply to help rez everyone. But, is this what would ultimatley balance us?

I think most of the hardcore trolls will say FD is not enough as well. :smileyhappy:
