I also will not have to beg the melee to hard target a mob cause I can now switch to a non-slacker!</p><p> </p><p>Consider this 1 of 98 issues resolved for raid chanters!</p>

AMEN!My favorite was begging the raid leader for a melee class, and then getting a SK who refused to joust. "Most of my damage is from spells". ARRRGH! NO MORE!<div></div>

<div>this is great... but yet again we get a side-effect from the update</div><div> </div><div> </div><div><strong><font color="#ffcc00">*** Combat ***</font></strong>- Fighter and scout classes will now turn on auto-attack when casting damage spells (in the same way this occurs when casting damage arts).</div><div> </div><div>That means that its gonna be hard as hell for tanks to taunt before breaking mezzes.....not a big deal, just be ready for the deaths :smileymad:</div>

I don't see it as being that huge of a problem even if they do, I try to mez out of auto-attack range most of the time, and even if I get a tank that breaks mez before having total control of aggro, they usually pick it up before I take enough hits to die. The old Barrier of Intellect was nice for those situations, though, that stun was often the difference in those cases between life and death.

Taunt isn't a spell. I'm fairly certain this only affects bards and crusaders.<div></div>

well i was shouting and swearing and its a wonder i didn't have the neighbour complaining thanks to the new constant auto attack and death at the bottom of a wall after a minute of bouncing up and down at it fighting with the auto attack button to stay off. either reactive procs turn on my auto attack, or everything does... either way my SK sucks more than ever at training... (thats running through mobs, not getting other people agro'd). taunts are spells, certainly for us, and guardian taunts go off mental resists, so possibly for them too.as for my chanter, marginally happy but was always an inconveniance, not a major issue.<div></div>

The change about auto-attack doesn't affect anything of interest to Illusionists. There are taunts that do damage...these would break mez anyways. There are taunts that just taunt...these are not damage spells and are not affected. The change primarily affects hybrid classes that have both Combat Arts and Spells.Pre-patch my dirge could use a combat art on a mob, and auto-attack automatically comes on. It works the same way for every melee class. However, my dirge could use a Direct Damage Spell, and would not have Auto-Attack come on. It was truly just dang annoying that auto-attack never came on just because you started with a spell rather than a combat art.<div></div>
