View Full Version : Illusions?

One of the thing I feel we miss the most are useful illusions or spells using light/dark and other visual aspects. I often fee a coercer should dominate the brain directly whereas illusionist fool it through the senses. But instead we get spells like spell shield and phase seem that not only useless, but totally out of character. Illusiory Allies is better but the mem-wipe aspect is awful. What i would like to see are the addition of 'useful' illusions. I have examples, and im not suggesting any of them but throwing them open for discussion. I realise balance is the big question.1) Illusiory Allies... remove the mem wipe. We can use this to distract the opponent (even epics) for a few secs until they are dead, but then the mob goes back to the main tank.2) Blur : A spell that blurs the group out .. dropping the hate level.3) Shifting visage ... targetted illusion buff that has one persons form change every few seconds giving a 5% chance of totally removing the hate of that person.4) Add illusionary element to our stuns/stifle... ie we shift form to a horrific monster and the npc is stunned by fear.... rather than the one we have now which still seems more coercer-ish.5) Illusionary form spells that actually make you LOOK like that form to NPC factions. eg. If you take on gnoll illusion, your faction with gnolls is good! Really illusionist should be the best people to go places they really are not welcome. And probably we could come up with thousands more. So what 'illusions' would you like to see?

I think they could work it much the same as invise does. red cons and certain types of mob would be able to see through the illusion.Timmer 63 WizardKremitdefrog 29 Illusionist

Make it work exactly like the Illusion works when you have to do the last part of the HooLoo Hat Quest.

For those who haven't done it, you get a 10 minute Strifewing disguise that makes everything indifferent unless you get too close and you have to sneak to the back to commune with an egg.

As a spell, it should be an Illusion:target type thing, with all the normal restrictions like epics and such. Hell, even without the faction modifier, and illusion:target would be fun and probably shut me up on the whole *where is our illsusions* thing.

Mihos

A "Mimic" spell. Just gives you the illusionary form of whatever you target.

I can only find one problem with the "mimic" idea. I don't know if SoE would want a bunch of illusionists running around as giants (which is what I would DEFINATLY do if i had that spell). But I do agree that Illusionists should get more illusions to choose from. We are the shape changers, and we get the same kind of spells warlocks do. We should at least be able to change into animals.
