I put on a vest and my Antonia Bayle halloween mask, then cast the pet. It's fun to have bigheaded Antonia running around with me. Oh, and the spoon too if I'm feeling extra saucy.

<div></div>You'll get your first AE mez (Phantasmal Splendor) at 23.  It's mostly useful for getting out of trouble when soloing because in EQ2 even fighters get AE abilities and they break AE mez.

Speaking of AE mez, I think this is another good spot to put in the speech about not overmezzing. It's something that new enchanters tend to do, and it's really not necessary. If you are in a full balanced group, fighting level-appropriate encounters, the tank and healer should have no problems at all holding up against one encounter, even if that encounter contains 4 mobs. (The way the encounter system works is that a triple up arrow is about equivalent to 4 no arrows, or many down arrows.) In fact, a full group can often handle several encounters at a time, without mez.So if you are fighting one encounter, but mezzing 3 out of those 4 no-arrow mobs, you are really just slowing things down. Let the healer and tank do their job, let everyone use their AE abilities, ramp up your own damage, and you can mow through a multiple-creature encounter quickly with no problems, and without mez.Depending on the group setup and how difficult the area is, you might need to (but not always) mez adds. Your group might also decide to mez the boss and kill his adds first if going up against a named encounter.Obviously if you are in a small group, or one without a tank or healer, mez can be very useful and maybe even necessary. Using mez in these cases can help groups to go places and accomplish things that they might not otherwise be able to do.So to sum up, just because you *can* mez doesn't mean that mezzing is always the best option.

<div></div>If you have any interest at all in DPS, choose a coercer.  Their dd spells are 50% more damage than ours and they can charm a pet 4 - 6 lvls higher including ^^^ ..
