lol, bitter are we? Though I hear what you are saying. Many years of EQ 1 enchanter and illusionist in EQ 2. imo, they should get rid of this split enchanter crap and bring us back to our former glory, coercer and illusionist combined.

QuoteIn Raids: - Make epic monsters aware if an illusion is being cast on them and what a potentially grave and serious threat this could cause should any of these spells be successful. The monster could then go on a massive rampage forgetting it’s hate list, killing everything to try and eliminate the illusionist. That should stop anyone inviting the illusionist class into the raids, even out of pity.End Quotelol something like this used to happen - when we cast insight across raids and in groups - the aggro it generated from the enormous hate. Oh for those days when i felt like a threat or useful.Happy days...
Message Edited by Pogball on 02-23-200605:40 AM

Am I the only one who thinks the first "suggestion" sounds rather interesting? Our damage being an illusion would require different tactics than those used by the common mage. Of course compensation would be necessary. What about increased, but temporary damage, which would be excellent to use when finishing off a tough mob - letting them die of a heart attack. Would require some thinking on how to implement it so an illusionist would still be able to solo.Hm...how much damage we make could be dependent on how much power the mob has left. Most suitable on mobs whose power is WIS-based.

It would be a bear to code the stacking issues for the mob I'd bet, but still could add a lot of flavor to the class.

City of Heroes illusion damage worked that way. Big nukes but if it didn't die it healed back all the illusion damage. I don't think it would work well with this game though because it takes a long time to kill some epics and your damage would therefore be meaningless.

the idea would have merit if it was mixed with normal damage as well. what they could do to for this is make a sepeate line of spells that could do impressive dps but that would only last a short while (which is very similar to the sta debuffs shaman's get, as in if they debuff the sta of a mob right off the bat they can lower its overall hp considerably ... but if the debuff wears off it appears as if the mob heals itself a good bit) getting a 3k+ nuke but that would heal/reverse after 10- or 15 seconds would be cool as long as we had some other means to do "real" damage along the way.

If they were to change all our damage to be "illusionary damage" then the timers would have to be longer and the numbers would have to be jacked way way up, turning us into sorcers instead of enchanters (must kill mob in 20 seconds or less or we couldn't kill it at all kinda thing .. and thats not likely to happen)

Intersting concept but SoE usually shy's away from adding in new damage types and new game mechaincs if its not thier idea first :smileywink:
