Illusionist changes:- Personae requires a 10 second casting time as with other permanent pet summons.http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tup&message.id=110Just great. Do other pet classes have to wait 30 seconds before they can resummon another pet when theirs die as well?I guess this is their way of making mez spells more viable.

In fact I was looking at the beta updates and going, uhhhh, what happened here?

Gotta chime in on this one. What?!!! Why??!!! Huh? It just does not make any sense. I suppose it will be find if they reduce our recast timer to bring the spell in line with other permanent pets. But even so. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Don't they have better things they can do for our class issues?<div></div>

In fact I'd find soloing quite a bit more difficult without the pet. What would you want instead?I guess what I'm saying is that for the times I want/need to solo, I wouldn't want to go back to pre-LU13 stifle-tank soloing or trying to solo with that pos root we have.Completely fictional Lockeye quote in regards to the new pet casting time:"I witnessed an illusionist bringing out a second pet within 32 seconds, and combined with a mez spell, this allowed him to solo a yellow triple-up mob. None of us rolled anchanters to be a pet class. And most of us would have prefered it to stay that way.

It brings out our crowd control skills in soloing in ways that were only possible with a group before. And when you are in a real group, you dont need the pet so it really doesnt matter. The real "pet classes" need the pet to be useful at all, we dont. It is a bonus in my opinion. Enchanters in EQ have always had some form of pet (remember the walking shield and sword days?), but they just haven't been as affective. As long as we can solo (I can very well) and as long as we are valuable to a group (we are), then who cares...However, I would like to know what the implications are for this 10 second change. Anyone have any further info on this??

<div></div>Don't get me wrong here folks - i DO use the pet all the time - my complaint is that with this idiotic nerf we get to wait 40 seconds before we have a new pet - all other 'pet classes' have to wait 10 seconds. Someone PLEASE explain to me how this is 'fair' - which is the indication I got from the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] patch note saying they were breinging it "in line with other permanent pets". Hell - to tell the truth I would WELCOME a 10 second cast time IF they dropped the 30 second recast timer. That would be an improvement. But they didn't. And if their reasoning behind it is that we Illusionists have a more uber pet than any other "pet class" - well then i think EVERYONE would have to disagree - NO ONE believes that Illusionist pets are superior to ANY other pet.
I do think this is a bit unnecesarry as I thought our compromise was that the pet uses up 3 conc slots! Isnt that enough?<div></div>

Now im not exactly a fan of pets... but errr .... what on earth is the thinking on this change? Did I miss something whereby illusionist pets were overpowered and unbalancing the game? Did some other pet class out there complain because of our casting time?I mean seriously Sony, what exactly was the point of this change other than to seriously irritate people?
<div></div><p>This is just the standard bi-weekly Illusionist nerf.</p><p>Look back and check it out. Almost like clockwork they nerf us significantly or insignificantly every 2 weeks.</p><p>Fixes come once a year and only stay for a month. </p><p>So by my calculation we will get our next fix 11 nerfs from now. It will last for 2 nerfs then go away and we will be right back here again.</p>

<div></div><p>lol i was being sarcastic....id prefer waiting 30 sec for a recast than spending 10 sec to cast. with a 30 sec recast and 2 sec casting time, that gives 30 sec to do other stuff and 2 sec to cast the pet. so with a lot of mezzes running (like i ALWAYS got in LT when solo), u gotta buy urself 10 sec to get that pet back out, which might not happen.</p>
<div></div><p>long cast time with no recast or short cast time with long recast, both is ok for me.</p><p>the only reason why i had prefered to stay it like before, is to have some more distinction beween classes. although only a minor change it still blurs the line between classes even more. and a lot of small changes sum up sooner or later also and there isnt that much uniquness in this game anyways.</p>
