There are so few changes that got made to the class yesterday, in fact none of them should in theory be affecting players above level 33. The only thing I hate is the fact that we don't get any changes made to us anymore.

Theory is great and all, but reality is better.  I use what is more useful, not what some theory says I should. <grin><div></div>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div>Losing stupefy was painful, and I also enjoyed Intensify.Stupefy mitigated hate. So an add that you had been mezzing four 4 minutes while the group finished off the encounter, when the party was ready, you would root it, stupefy it, and say go. It was a defensive tactic that frequently kept me alive. Not to mention that it extended the amount of time you could continue doing balls-out dps.Now the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] thing comes right for you, even while being taunted and you take a beating, and we illusionists aren't very hardy. This happened to me twice in CT last night where it definitely would not have happened previously. After the second time, I dropped legerity and brought up a pet, strictly for defense. Nobody was happy about it, but everybody understood. Although they were polite, I could sense the thought; "well, unless you don't NEED an enchanter for a given situation, forget 'em, they're more useless than ever". I mean, prior to this I actually had people tell me, "yeah you're the right level but we don't want a chanter". "Why, you have one?". "No. we just don't want one".Stupefy figured big in my playstyle, particularly as a soloist (which I do a great deal). I used it constantly in my spell sequence, and I feel hamstrung by the omission. Oh and thanks for removing intensify, I mean...why? If nothing else that spell at least added some interest to the class. The really annoying thing is, they just took it away. We weren't compensated in any way at all. There's more too...tried to single target invis yourself while in a group? And What about the gold spent on masters, for those of us that did buy them (I ensured stupefy was the highest level I could afford, because I found it so useful). Thanks SoE. You've made a difficult and challenged class less appealing than ever. I've defended the illusionist class since opening day, but this is getting ridiculous. I just don't have the energy anymore to get another toon to 50+, if the chanter class doesn't get some more balls soon, well Vanguard is on the horizon somewhere, and I can always kill time in DDO.<p>Message Edited by MyChatBot on <span class="date_text">02-04-2006</span><span class="time_text">09:13 AM</span></p>

Stupefy was hardly any hate reduction. It was about the same amount as Blink. One taunt from your tank before breaking mez will eclipse by far any hate effects from Stupefy. If you're that worried about being pasted after a mez, stun the thing with the long duration stun. And do you mean Intensity? If you're really 50+, you should be using Dynamism instead. If you did mean Intensify, I guess I'm not familiar with that one.
