View Full Version : So we lost Ego Shock, big deal, lets focus on our real issues, not the losing of 2 low-level spells
Big deal, lets look at what matters more, our lack of raid ability besides DPS. We need to focus on our issues, not just randomly complain about issues that are meaningless. So, raid ability, all epic mobs should be stifable, and stunnable. However their special abilities can be cast through stun and stifles. Plus they can cure stuns/stifles(every specific amount of time). Add in the ability to toss up immunity to stuns/stifles for a certain amount of time as well. This will make us feel a bit more useful, and get this, make it fun to be an Illusionist as we won't be just DPSing entire fights. Also power drain. All innate abilities should cost 0 power. Power pools of raid mobs should be about a 20th of their HP pool. Abilities when used should actually consume the same amount of power that players use for the same ability/spell, and now that they're using higher level abilities this should be better. This will make our power drains as useful as stifles, if we can drain them fast enough. Average Raid Mob has 600,000 HP. Average raid force probably does about 6,000 DPS. This gives us 100 seconds to drain the mob, if the mob has 25,000 Power, and we can drain 1000 every 32(30+2)s, and 1000 every 27(25+2)s, that means in 100s we can cast 3 stuns, and 3 stifles, and drain 6,000 power from the mob, which is roughly 25% of the power pool from the mob. 2 Chanters could drain 12,000 power, and with other classes that also drain power, you could fully drain an epic mob in 100s.Now onto our single straight debuff. I've been thinking about the way it works. From what I hear a mob with crazy avoidance and an assassin with 433 in the skill, STILL has a hard time hitting that mob. So it would seem to me, that Dismay doesn't really lower it that much. Although it is hard to tell, so it'd have to take some crazy parse work to figure out if it really is changing anything.

<div></div>No offense, but should we say nothing about the continued nerfage? The loss of ego shock hurt us in the solo/group arena. I too long for changes that help us in the epic arena, but I don't see any changes happening there. People are rightfully upset about loosing more ground with each patch. It would not be too bad if we at least had some vision of what to exspect in the future. Knowing that we had some serious improvements comming in LU-13 kept me from leaving way back when. We are not nearly as bad off as back then, but its hard to silently swallow each nerf as you appearently avocate doing.<div></div>

All it is a change to spells that you shouldn't be using anyway. The constant crying about stupid stuff is what is hurting us. All I see is people crying in here now, there is never how to fix us anymore. In fact I'm not seeing us losing ANYTHING here. I see the lower levels being changed so that they are more in-tune to what people can expect to see in the later levels, rather than seeing spells that no longer get upgraded because they were never our spells in the first place.Crying will not fix the problem. Giving arguments as to why it is a "nerf" and showing a solution to the "problem" is what will get you responses.

<div></div>I am not crying. I am simply stating that my 60th Illusionists abilities to fight was significantly reduced by the loss of ego shock. The fact is that our "upgrade" of that spell was not even close to being as useful. Suggestion to fix this? Change our mez/nuke to a much more useful root/nuke. Do I want fixes for our abilities in epic battles? Of course I do. If the loss of my second root was accompanied by such fixes, or at least a stated plan for some fixes, then I would not be upset. But I did not appreciate loosing a ROOT and getting nothing in return.<div></div>

I have not used Ego shock since early last year and I solo, duel group VERY well. Relying on a level 10 spell is silly. Besides, the pet does PLENTY of rooting. </p><p>Epic fixes are much more important then a level 10 spell</p>
