Look, I have seen alot of people saying we can't solo so great, or lack the ability. I want some feedback here (just for my amusement ofc). I personally have been able to solo actually anything L62^^^ named and below, that pretty much includes adds. I solo roost for fun (and yummy plats) and run thru my zone of choice (Clefts of Rujark) and kill every named (not epic) in about 20min tops. Really, I think Illusionists are the VERY BEST solo class, it simply takes a little time management and a quick eye.

(I use magic debuff -Hex of Chaos- and a wonderful assortment of about 18 Master spells) I didn't used to have the masters, and could still solo like a dream... ofc this game is not built with solo in mind (it is to an extent, but raids are where the fun is).

I was just wondering if other people were having problems or feel the same as I.

nope no problems here......ive even soloed my way through PP once. of course it took two whole sets of armor cuz of a little bit of trouble with the 65 nameds up top, but did manage to get it done. that was the longest PP trip ever.

only thing im really not able to solo is cazel's mesa, cuz theres no way i can bust out enough DPS to kill that first named before it resets, and no way to clear zone fast enough before repops so i can kill cazel.

i do this with capped int, 20pts of regen from Items, and 20 masters

I found Illus a great solo class, our personaes are pretty good at taking a beating!! We have to well equipped of course!

Adds simply aren't an issue, mez.grp mes and yr done.

I originally played a wizard when I started out, cos as a new player I was drawn to the class that appeared to be the biggest damage dealers, but, I was soooooo bored by level 30, I carried in to 40 and then DELETED!

My illusionist however really changed the game for me, whoooole different game play and much more interesting and fun!

I spend a lot of time soloing and it is for that reason that I like my illusionist more than my berserker.

However, I wouldn't say that illusionist=soloer... That would indicate that we can't perform a role in a group or raid, which would be false.

*yawn* Just because we can mez/stun/etc. solo doesn't make us good soloers. It makes us able to solo about anything, yes, but it doesn't mean "good". Honestly yah I can solo everything but Cazel's.

Solo'n big guys is fun and you can get great bragging rights, but that really doesn't make you a great solo'r.

Soon we will be grinding again. A great solo'r can solo great exp per hour. That is a measure of a great solo'r, not how big a guy you can take down.

I think we are decent but we are not awesome. If you think you are going from 60-70 with Mez Nuke you are out of your mind.

We do ok, not as good as some not as bad as most.

If you want an Uber solo class there are better choices. A Warlock and a Conj can solo all stated places and mobs and level in half the time on a solo exp grind.

Those same classes can exp 5X an illusionist. That is my point.

this has always been my point as well.

to be able to kill stuff, doesnt alone make you a great soloer.

there are a lot of classes to pick from who are able to solo PP just as fine as illu but also can grind xp in a fraction of the time we would need.

so depending what you put more weight on, simply being able to kill stuff, or being able to kill simple stuff efficiently or *gasp* maybe even both, the opinion if we are top soloer or not will vary.

i would say we are ok atm. not the best but also far from being the worst.

Personally I find the class to be fun. Yes we cannot grind xp solo as fast as other classes. However our survivability is the best of any class. I can't count the number of times i have been fighting and gotten adds. Simply to mez them and take them soon after I have finished with my current target. Most of the time when I return to town it is because my bags are full or my encum from coin is to high. Not because of death and appearing near town. I love the class, hate that our spells have little direct effect vs epic mobs, but will continue playing it.
