<div>What's our hat going to look like?</div><div> </div><div>Hey, some illusionists are complaining about their raid function, etc... Well, illusionists are contributing strong buffs and even some admirable DPS to raids currently (a good illusionist really giving DPS a shot will outdamage the fighters). Sure, our DPS can't compete with a wizard trying to get killed, or a ranger, but it's not bad. That pluss the buffs... Well let's just say I've never been turned down for a raid.</div><div> </div><div>Solo we do very well, often able to defeat heroic ^^^ only a couple levels below us. Very few classes can say they can do that...</div><div> </div><div>We're doing well.. I'm happy. The only question I have is the one listed above.</div><div> </div>

<div>I'm in favor of the pointy hat with the big wrap around brim.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div>and maybe some harder hitting long lasting dots!</div>

Most of us will never know what our hat will look like, because our robes will automagically cover them up with the hood...<div></div>

<div>well you can use the /showhood command to lower the hood, and then I believe the command to show a helmet while the hood is down is /showhelm</div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div>I want a beanie cap with a huge spinning hypnowheel on the front. Now that would be awesome.</div><div> </div><div>But I bet the coercer's will get that. We'll get one with a spinning disco ball I bet, at least it'll go well with the lightshow effects from our spells though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

lots of stuns/stifles and prismatics generally.<div></div>

<div>Exactly - I'd like to reiterate on what SunTsu said, and add that if you use your personae as a catalyst for damage, not as a tank, and manage to keep your foe rooted, stunned, mesmerized etc long enough to create a new personae you can repeat that to eventually kill the heroic. </div><div> </div><div>Keep in mind, this can be dangerous... A couple of resisted spells and you may die, but defeating these enemies at all is something that most classes can't accomplish under any circumstances.</div><div> </div>
Would like to reiterate, that i was taking out the Spectres in SS with my 52 Illusionist much to the amazement of my fellow guildies. This was prior to the *Root Nerf* we recieved. And yes it was a bit dodgey and with a resist or two I was toast, however i was letting the Personae tank with Prismatic on him as much as possible until his health dropped to about 30% then it was "back off" and rest up to full health whilst I rooted and blasted the mob, then send the personae back in.The same went for any ^^^ heroic mob unlucky enough to catch my eye. The same still holds after a fashion, i find my pet lasts a little longer since one of the patches, but it is certainly a little more difficult now, though not impossible.I am enjoying my Illusionist and his different facets he can bring to a group dependant on its make up!Sir Charizma of the ShardThe Order of Festooning MonkiesSplitpaw<div></div>
Simply because of this thread, I tried killing a few heroics in Rivervale tonight. I'm level 53, I took on 2 of the demon guys, a 43 ^^^ and a 42^^ was relatively easy. I lost my pet tanking the 43^^^ (killed him though before pet died) mez'd the other one, waited to recast pet, and he went down piece of cake.<div></div>
<div></div>hmmm i have a lvl 54 illusionnist and i kill yellow heroic guards in maj dul with no problem :smileyindifferent:
With a lot of time, you can take down 65 heroics. It's not really skill required either, it's just a LOT of time, and luck on resists.

If he does not mele and instead his 'Mele' attacks are infact spells, then Dyantism and haste on him should be outragious.</p><p>Would love to know the answer.</p>
since the pet revamp last patch, my pet doesn't melee that much at all, big waste to use prismatic on him. So I give him dyna and call it good. My one complaint is my pet will use a lot of roots, then move in to melee range. On the plus side his agro generation seems to have gone up, and he can hold agro from me if I have color showered. Essentially, now to beat ^^^ mobs I have to use a lot of stifling/stunning/dismay. I could sit there and micromanage my pet if I wanted to, and keep peacing him to bring him back to me, but I don't want to deal with it that much.<div></div>

Funny i fell into this tread, i have lately found myself soloing more than usual. and to that end, i have been fighting a lot of the ^^^ in SS. im 52. now, i can solo the tarantulas with ease, the 47's and 48's...with much of what everyone is talking about (stuns/stifles/etc), but the majority of what i do is root, and prismatic. i still have a rough time with the spectres at the entrance, just simply because they just hit so hard. if i can keep him rooted, i have no issues. now, i do "micro-manage" my pet. i send in my construct first, followed by him, and DOT the hell out of the target-then re-root. i have noticed that my pet doesnt do as MUCH melee, but he still does a good amount, or at least is stupid enough to get into melee range all the time, and flail his arms about. i havent really tried the dynamism, but i may now that ive seen the talk of it. I usually dont have the open conc slot though. the only problem i find with soloing in T6, for me anyway, is that the xp blows! if i solo a 51 or 52^^^ near the bay of anuk, i rarely get 1 %. which brings me to my question: someone have pointers on getting more xp? i really wanna xp, but find myself joining raids with little reward and no xp, so i seem to have hit a brick wall in xp grind. i would like to cap before the expansion comes around next month.thanks<div></div>
Quit raiding till you hit the cap, join groups that are grinding giants, cyclops, or raptors in PoF. Well at your level, join a group that is grinding all the junk in shimmering citadel, and do the poet's palace access quest, while you're there.

<div></div><p>Peglegcrook, in my opinion 1% experience at that level is very good, and worth the effort. From my experience, it takes 10-20 solo, no arrow kills in that level to get 1% depending on vitality.</p><p>This is of course solo that I'm talking about here. Grouping is another story.</p><p> </p>

Some of the solo quest lines are pretty good, too. I've gotten to the last part of the Amulet of the Swords of Ro quest while soloing. Keeps things interesting, too.

<div>our hat should be some sort of green cloud halo,</div><div> </div><div>Like the beams of "mentals" around Jim Carey's head when he played the Riddler.</div><div> </div><div>So say there is a cloud of light green or bright grey smoke always around our heads in a halo. that would be cool a hell.</div><div> </div><div>Keep the thread on track, I want to hear more ideas about hats.</div>
