Hello Illusionists, I'm a paladin with a question regarding your "Swarm pets" (I don't know it's name, but the spell summons a bunch of pets with names of players in the group or raid of the illusionist) I've noticed that these pets take 100% aggro.  That's fine, but do they also cast memwipe on the mob? Last night I was the MT for a raid in The Cour of Al'Afaz and one of the Illusionists in our raid casted the pets. I lost aggro, but when the last pet died the mob started hitting one player after the other, but not me. It would be a shame for such a nice spell to be of little use because of the high risk for a raidforce. <div></div>

Depends on which one, I'm assuming the latter.<img src="http://www.millsplace.com/eq/images/Illusionist/ConstructOfReason.gif"> <img src="http://www.millsplace.com/eq/images/Illusionist/IllusoryAllies.gif">Your Illusionist wasn't very smart if he did this without telling anyone what was going on. <a href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=26&message.id=8363" target=_blank>Another discussion</a>.<p>Message Edited by WAPCE on <span class=date_text>12-16-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:01 PM</span>

<DIV>Im a  lvl  60  illusionist.i  cast   that  spell  when  the  MT   and  MA are  both  dead   .it  gives   about  7 --8  seconds  of  free time  to  get the  MT  and  MA  rezzed..   another option  is ---> it  does  take  100%  aggro , it  can  be  used  as  a  way  to pull a mob, take  the  first  few  massive   hits,  then  MT  can  use  rescue.   If  anyone  has  any  ideas  on that  spell feel  free  to  give  out  some  tip's  )</DIV>

I now see it's use, seems usefull in special occasions. I will talk to our illusionists about this. I still think the spell can be dangerous when used at the wrong time. But does the spell also memwipe the mob, as all previous aggro i built up seemed to be gone the moment that spell is cast (could it be the way for the pets to get 100% aggro?) <div></div>

They cast this huge taunt in the beginning.  It's an encounter taunt. The pets will generally last the full 15 sec unless the mob has an aoe go off while they are up. Best to be on teamspeak and tell the tank when to cast rescue. <div></div>

<DIV>Basically, when you cast the swarm they pull 100% of the agro on their intended target.  They sometimes (but not always) pull agro from all of the other mobs in the encounter.  I suspect that they effectively spam memwipe while they're alive.  I also believe that they memwipe everybody BUT the illusionist.  I'm not really sure of the details but my observations are as such:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. Tank or somebody else has agro</DIV> <DIV>2. I cast swarm and my swarm is guaranteed to have agro on their main target.  They frequently but not always hold agro on adds (sometimes even out of encounter adds).</DIV> <DIV>3. Tank CANNOT out-taunt my pets on their main target no matter what.</DIV> <DIV>4. When my pets either die or expire due to the spell duration (15 seconds), I am guaranteed to initially have agro.  But it's not always a ton - sometimes a simple taunt or heal will pull it off of me.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The actual details are still a bit fuzzy to many of us but that is the general way they work.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Jax</DIV>

I have met illusionists who thought Illusory Allies works like the Summoner swarm pets and they did cast it in the believe to add some decent damage. Like the OP we also had it happen on raid once with a new illu recruit. Of course it caused a wipe. :smileysurprised: <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What can we learn from this? </DIV> <UL> <LI>Read the spell descriptions closely.</LI> <LI>Test your new spells outside raid first.</LI> <LI>Read the illu boards ! :smileyvery-happy:</LI></UL>

Essentially its useless on Raids.
