<DIV>there are 2 more changes on test which affect illusionist directly besides the "less resisted Dissapointement :smileywink: " .</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- The Illusionist pet spell list now also includes Stunning Array, Lock Mind, and a direct damage/mez spell. They no longer try to cast DoT spells on their target.</DIV> <DIV><BR> </DIV> <DIV>this is a nice gesture, i hope it will work out well.</DIV> <DIV>the pet dots were removed to lower the chance to break root i guess. our pet is going to assist us more with stuns and roots it seems.  </DIV> <DIV>the dmg/mez spell should make up for the dps loss of gloom. </DIV> <DIV>overwhelming silence is a power dot, maybe it gets removed as well. i liked the stifle on it and had the impression that it was the best agro spell our personae had available. so only time and testing will show if the spell change will actually bring some noticeable benefit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- Daunting Gaze and its subclass upgrades now have a casting time of 2 seconds.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>which means our long duration stun has a faster cast time. now thats something really positive.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>The problem with the pet putting dot on the mob was when you wanted to mez the mob.</P> <P>My pet would always put nightmare i think on the mob.  Then if i needed to mez for what ever reason I couldn't.  An option on the pet to tell him what to cast would be nice.  Like either aoe spells or no aoe.  He doesnt have color shower so it doesn't really matter.  I like when he hits the mob with a stun first.  There is also a problem with aoe stun not stacking with the pet.</P> <P>I think the aoe stun doesn't stack at all.  Can someone else confirm this.  I can check maybe on Monday when I run into another illusionist.</P>

The pet used to use Stupefy, which was the AE stun's predecessor.  And yes, it did block our AE stuns.Sounds like instead of Stupefy they're getting the AE.  Or possibly both?Anyhoo I like these changes...pet is more for tanking/control than DPS for me.<div></div>

<DIV>I approve of the pet changes.  I never use the pet for DPS, only in rare circumstances where more stuns and fewer broken mezzes are good.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>See, there's just 1 problem with this, I sometimes get Could not Take Affect when casting my stuns because of it, I'd have to look into it, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen more than once.</DIV>

<DIV>if pet does less dps now this blows. DPS = Taunt. And hurray, it got a upgrade for its single target mez...</DIV>

<DIV>As long as the pet's overall DPS stays the same (i measured 100DPS at lvl 60) then these are some pretty good changes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Although the pet is more of a control assistant than DPS for me, i still dont want to lose the option of using it to do more damage if i need to.</DIV>

Our normal dps is low enough for the pet to improve it much. How did you get 100dps ? You buff it ? <div></div>

<DIV>its been a while since i checked it, but i do remember i did it with only Seal up, and it was against one of those Dervish by the south entrance to PoF. It was prolly cuz of the low lvl that the pet got all that DPS. But its still enough to consider a good bonus.</DIV>

<P>These are some positive changes.  Yes the aoe stun resist was annoying but i hope they dont take its power drain/stun.  i too use it(pet) to tank and for control.  not dps.  i am glad the dots are gone.  and i really hope its root is as good as ours, or at least is the same quality as the pet.</P> <P>These seem like good overall changes.  but i don't doubt soe will secretly nerf something on it or us, as they are notorious for doing.  So that leaves us to see if we're now "too powerful".  /flex /rolleyes /chuckle /sigh</P>
