<DIV>Am I going mad or has the only nuke that actually done close to any decent amount of damage been nerfed?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Embolism that I basically grinded all the way up towards getting now hits for the same amount as that rubbish beam <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know we're not intended as a DPS class and isn't a general rant towards getting us to being that but it was nice to be hitting for a slight bigger amount every now and again!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We're back to being the broken utility class again with nothing particularly special going on in raids.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I agree that within raids unless we're in the main group we're next to nothing apart from our general buffs, dps is next to non-existent. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was told it was a difficult class but no one ever said that we could simply go on auto-follow in raids and afk.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've been looking at the "word of force" spell that we get at level 20 from splitpaw which still hits for more than any other nuke that we have as a class.... For 280-380 (ish) plus the proc it suggests in description atm that it "will" hit for a further 280-380. Is it meant to be as a chance extra hit as the description comes across as being an everytime situation.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well working it out any other nuke after "word of force" is irrelevant as is on the same timer as shimmering beam, and embolism hits for less than what would be the total of successful hits from "word of force". Rather take the chance of getting a decent hit everytime or hit for what might be extra amount but possibly less? Well tbh it's not like it makes a huge difference either way as both aren't a very big hitter!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Please make it so the newer nukes are actually worth using or replace with a mana nuke for the same amount of mana to specific target and please, please, pleeeeease make it raid useable instead of limited to group.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Illu's are just going to end up good for quest completing but just short of pointless on raids.</DIV>

Shockingly enough, that rubbish beam has always done more DPS than the embolism line.  Take a peek at the cast/recast times...no surprise here.<div></div>

This has been repeated a million times now. <span>:smileyhappy:</span> Yes we need changes on raids. As far as the embolism. We are not a DPS class but I still use a master version of this spell. Basically I only use it when I have cast all my ae's (if needed), stuns(if stuns are even needed...), dots, havoc, and JUST cast shimmering. THEN I cast embolism since I am waiting for refreshes and then cast shimmering again. Just a good filler spell when your waiting on your spells to come up again. <div></div>

<DIV>I don't use this spell unless I have nothing else to cast and power is not an issue.  Have you seen the power costs for that spell?  If you are on a raid, it'll help drain you very fast.  I just cast my DoT's, beam and prismatic.  Embolism is too costly to use in almost all situations.</DIV>

<P>Repeated a million times but still nothing done.</P> <P>No wonder we don't get any progression as we have quitting statements like that!</P> <P>Can't make some statements via forums that dev's will read, can't get any backing from community, what honestly is the point of these forums apart from what seems to be the mostly apparent whinging and moaning.</P> <P>As I had said I'm not after DPS essentially just that it was nerfed from something decent to back in the same lines as the other rubbishy ones!</P> <P>For DPS I was ofc taking into consideration the timers and embolism in there as a stack upon the beam.</P> <P>ie Beam, emb, beam, pris or other as a sequence. It's a loss of DPS and dmg over time....</P> <P>Granted if we're taking DPS as literally as "damage per second" then that would be nothing at all for the first 3-4 seconds!</P> <P>Dunno why it's different for me either but when I'm using emb it doesn't seem to take that much an impact but yet I'm boardering to cap on WIS and over cap on INT so that might have something to do with it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P><p>Message Edited by Mongowth on <span class=date_text>12-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>04:17 PM</span>
