Anyone seen Mesmer in Guild Wars?

<DIV>Hey fellow enchanters,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>  Have any of you guys checked out Guild Wars at all? It is a game that REALLY matter depending on all your choices.  You go on different missions with your group but before you go you have to choose exactly what abilities you want to bring with you.  And each ability really depends on each situation so your choices actually matter.  Now the part that is special to enchanters is that there is a class called the Mesmer, and if you havent read it check a small description here:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://www.guildwarsonline.com/content/professions-mesmer.php" target=_blank>http://www.guildwarsonline.com/content/professions-mesmer.php</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I read a little more into it and the game seems quite fun, but it is what an enchanter really should be.  I might be leaving EQ2 to play this game because it actually sounds like i can make choices in battles that actually matter.  I can be a very powerful character and not have my abilities limited to none because it says EPIC above its head.  Check it out, let me know what you think</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Darkillusion aka Dankronic</DIV> <DIV>56 Illusionist of The Illuminati of Kithicor</DIV> <DIV>Chronblazing Champion of the World</DIV>

The mesmer in GW has nothing actually to mesmerize any opponent, but he has a lot of things to "punish" them for doing one thing or another : if you cast a spell you lose so much mana or life, if you autoattack you lose so much life, if you have buffs you lose them + as many time some amount of life, if you cast enchantments (like DoTs) on one ally of mine I dispell them and use the energy to DD AE around. This is rather pleasant and useful (especially with good combos), but the game is only a tactical game and has nothing close to the depth of EQ2. I loved it, loved the team arenas too (do not call that pvp please), but eventually "finished" the game. <div></div>

The little I have played a mesmer in guild wars was quite fun. However, the game is definately not an MMORPG like everquest. It does not have a world in the same way;it lacked a sence of immersion. Our devs might find some interesting spell ideas by looking at the mesmers though.If any game steals me away from EQ2 it will definately not be guild wars.
