<DIV>Seeing as how i finally mined myself a Jasper.. and I'm a level 26ish Sage.. I was curious as to what the higher Illusionists would suggest for me to make my Adept III on. All of my spells are Apprentice IV, if not Adept I. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>And considering which spells will be replaced soon.. i really don't want to waste it on something i "THINK" would be useful.. to have it be a huge waste.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any ideas as to what spell should be my first Adept III by ... say... Level 25? (Currently Level 23..)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>~Riil (pronounced Real)</DIV>
<P>hehe... good question... tough answer. It really depends on your play style given the spell we have at your level. My suggestion is to upgrade the spell line you find yourself using most often. If you predominantly group and find you would like to increase the strength of those stats, make an Adept III buff. If you are a solo'r and find you like fighting/controlling groups of mobs, increase your ae stun/ mez line.</P> <P>Whatever you choose, I doubt you will go wrong if you pick a spell line you find yourself using in any given encounter (group or solo). If I were to choose it for you, I may as well explain in detail how I play and utilize that spell. Part of your growth in the class is learning how to play it... once you do, you will know what you want to improve upon.</P> <P>Hope this helps...</P> <P>VR,</P> <P>Kailen - 59 Illusionist Faydark</P>

<DIV>Agreed... not lookin for someone to TELL me what to get. I was just curious if there was an overwhelming feeling that BREEZE for instance HAS to be done first... because it's ridiculously great or something.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Personally.. with my current selection of spells most of my combat is spread evenly between 4-man groups of Warden/2xScouts/Myself and soloing. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>While soloing i find my progression is something similar to this:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Peronsae Split pull..</DIV> <DIV>Heroic Chain Start.. </DIV> <DIV>Daunting Gaze.. (stun/power drain, also continues HO)</DIV> <DIV>Overwhelming Silence.. (stifle/power DoT.. prevent spell/combat arts)</DIV> <DIV>Phantasmal Ray.. (direct damage)</DIV> <DIV>Chromatic Storm.. (DoT/Interrupt)</DIV> <DIV>Gloom.. (DoT)</DIV> <DIV>Cerebral Lash.. (DoT)</DIV> <DIV>Binding Sight.. (Root/Blind)</DIV> <DIV>Phantasmal Ray.. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Usually.. i can take high yellow.. blue 2^^ heroics with that progression.. and the combo stun and root at the appropriate time will keep the monster at bay while DoT's tick off on him. I don't have much trouble with this progression though I find with that many DoT's stuck on him, the root doesn't stick worth a crap.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Am I missing the boat here? I also asked for suggestions because i figured you guys would know what is going to be replaced by interchangeable spells. I'm not that experienced in it. I've got a progression chart I made myself as to when spells will be replaced at which levels. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also... do I have an AoE Stun and don't know it.. or does it come a bit later.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>~Riil</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
<P>Based on that, upgrade personae.</P> <P>All fo the others will give you nominal changes to your group I think. But the added DPS fo the Personae should help you solo for the 50% you do.</P><p>Message Edited by SunTsu on <span class=date_text>12-01-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:47 PM</span>
<DIV>/agree with SunTsu I would go with the Personae upgrade.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>AoE Stun for your level... look into Phantasmal Splendor.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Phantasmal Splendor</DIV> <DIV>Mezmerizes target opponent and surrounding encounter members. Increases to this ability decrease the chance to resist the duration of this effect.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Target: Enemy</DIV> <DIV>Power: 69</DIV> <DIV>Casting Time: 1.5sec</DIV> <DIV>Recovery Time: .5sec</DIV> <DIV>Recast Time: 10sec</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Duration: 30sec</DIV> <DIV>Radius: 10meters</DIV> <DIV>Max AOE Targets: 4</DIV> <DIV>Range: 25meters</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Effects:</DIV> <DIV>- Stuns encounter</DIV> <DIV>- Does not effect Epic targets</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>**Notice it doesn't do any damage either... so it will not add significant amounts of HATE points toward you. Test this on a trio of greenies. Make Personae attack, cast ae stun, see if they switch to you or stay on Personae.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>VR,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Kailen - 59 Illusionist Faydark</DIV><p>Message Edited by junzu on <span class=date_text>12-01-2005</span> <span class=time_text>02:01 PM</span>

Splendor is actually an AE mez, and might be a little bit of a power-hog to use as an interrupter. You do a get a true AE stun at level 30.As far as the Adept 3, I agree that the personae is a good choice. If you could stick it out til 28, I would say use it on Prismatic Discord if you group a lot -- that spell is wicked DPS when you have a meleer to use it on. Alternately, you could use it on your Ray, which I use basically every other spell for a quick bit of damage. It adds up...the only issue is this spell gets upgraded at 29, whereas the peronae will last you until 34.Best of luck with your choice! At 24 you can choose a master 2 AE DoT for some good damage there.<div></div>

<DIV>Yeah... EQ2 does a terrible job of labeling the crowd control spells. They all say stun in the bullet at the bottom of the spell... but ya gotta pay attention to the "Mesmerize" part. Why in the heck can't they just use one programmer.. to run through all CC and label appropriately. Would save us a bunch of time. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I leveled to 23 last night in about 5 mins.. then proceeded to beat down a level 24 Yellow 3-snake group with Chromatic Storm allowing me to pick them off one by one.. then an AoE heroic opportunity went off.. poof.. mez gone. I was under the impression it was a stun.. not a mez. So that killed me quick <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm thinking i'm going to get Personae first.. and dig up another Jasper by 28 for Discord. And master my Chromatic Storm next level (nother 5%) <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you fellas/ladies.</DIV>
I agree, i bought Adept3 for Personae pet at 33, then Master 2 for the Construct Order at 34. The Gloom line is great for Master2 at 20s level. And yes Discord is wicked cast on your pet when soloing or fast attack player in grp. <div></div>
