View Full Version : Illusionists and carpet quest 4
<DIV>To the best of my knowledge this is the only fight I have seen in EQ2 where you really had to have an enchanter. A lvl 58 named with 2 lvl 62 guards. The guards had to be mezzed FAST or the fight would be short and sad. In order to mezz these guards you needed an enchanter at least lvl 55 or so to fire off mezzes very fast and hope for not many resists. I guess the fact that you had to have a mezzer did not set well with someone because now the guards are lvl 58 instead of lvl 62 and the fight is routine now. I am not even sure that the guards still need to be mezzed, but the mezzing was easy anyway. I think that this dumbing down of content that persists ( and which makes this game EQ light rather than EQ2) is just another occassion of submitting to the need for instant gratification. It's sad that they keep changing the rules to such a great degree, you hardly know the game your playing anymore. I searched online to find adept1 vs adept3 vs master spell stats to help select which adept 3 to make. I found three different sets of stats for my spell. All were right at one time, none were right anymore.</DIV>
<DIV>you didnt need an enchanter really.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>the most efficent was to get a group with high burst dps. any form of crowd control, be it bruiser mez, inquisitor root, conjuror stun or what ever was sufficient then to handle the encounter. last time i helped a group i died on income and they still won. so much for need of an enchanter.</DIV>
The fact remains that it was commonly believed that you needed an enchanter ... an enchanter worked well .... now it is a gimmee
<P>Did you look at the mob levels?</P> <P>The adds are 57 now. That is why you are alive.</P>

<DIV>I'm sorry the encounter got nerfed, but it's still quite challenging (especially if someone is breaking your mezzes ... grr).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't mind that people can now get a carpet more easily. But would be nice if the previous carpet from the time of level 62^ adds were a slightly different color ... with more red to represent the blood, sweat, and tears I had getting it, a 52 Illusionist trying to mez 62^ adds <lol>.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Elleii, 55 Illusionist, Antonia Bayle</DIV>
