<DIV>Hi everybody</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am playing a Illusionist (55) on Valor Server, guilded to Wolfsclan. Further i am playing Everquest since 7th of April, 1999 and changed to Everquest 2 after i had reached everything a player can dream of in EQ1 (Plane of Time passed, Gates of Discord close to final mob...).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I decided to play an Illusionist in EQ2, since i was a melee in EQ1 and wanted to have some new experience in MMORPGs. Soon enough i found out, that playing an enchanting class is not as easy, as the most had thought of. Lots of my wishes became true, when the combat revamp changed our lifes significantly - no longer an enchanter but an desillusionized Pet-caster with low damage and an ability called "Mesmerize" that was beside soloing unused.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With the last update we bacame worthless. I honestly think, that the developers are persons who have lost connection to the game and its players long time ago. Whoever made this changes become public and live, for sure never played longer than a few testing hours, and i doubt that the testing class has been an enchanter. If that all is not the case, SoE should consider to talk and listen to their players instead of let some foolish marktingdependend youngsters fool around with game balancing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What the hell does SoE expect of an Illusionist?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mesmerize: Besides soloing it is so badly balanced, i cant believe it. Encounter Mez - lasts 22,5 (40 sec before), recast 15 sec...</DIV> <DIV>Examples, will be broken by any Taunting attempt (even if unsuccessful attempt), if more than 2 groups hit into the group like in Poets Palace u are done. Why? 15 Sek recast - in that time more than 2 groups hit the s..t out of everybody in group. Answer? Use single Mez! Ok, trying, doing... You cannot cast this spell more than 4 times! So, that means, that SOE is expecting players to accept, that if more than <insert number> of mobs hit group u are about to die. No chance at all. But, why isnt it allowed to be able as a player to change the things when having the ability but are blocked by senseless stupid patches? Poor prformance by the developers.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Root: Great, SHOULD last 25 sek, lasts even on level 10 greyish mobs without harming them (Yes i am level 55) 11 seconds .... If the target is hit, it is nothihng but just gone, no matter if pet damage, DoT or nuke. Useless spell.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nuke: My highest nuke besides the master II specials is now 400 dmg. 400, in words four hundred. I cant mez, i cant root, i cant nuke. What remains?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pet: My highest Pet, Adept III dies within seconds in pure melee (without mana) agains a mob 4 levels below, i have 150 AGI and 320 INT. If i downgrade my Pet to 50 AGI, it dies as fast). I cant heal my pet (like necro), my pet is no tank, it doesnt taunt and its spells are even in Adept III doing the damage i did when i was level 35, and root doesnt help too - so how should a chanter play? I dont know.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you mean, that is the best to keep - as worst soloing class - on killing green groups with 3down non heroic for exp, then this game will again loose a player. Miight not hurt, but at least longterm it is the same what happened to horizons - which was far better balanced, but had a bad game engine - the servers will have to be shut down.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wishlist? O yeah, what about making us usefull? Go over to your colleagues of game design in EQ1 and ask them what a chanter is for. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We ingame, we are so called "Players" or to be more precisely "paying Customers". Those funny beings are paying to play and they want to have fun - that you as a developer get your monthly cash. Some of them are playing "Illusionists" - a class which is called by players a CC (Crowd Controller) - primarily designed for making tough groupencounters with 5 or more mobs possible by controlling those mobs and making them sleep - which is called "Mesmerize". An Illusionist is not for making damage, no, he is designed for CONTROL! It is dumb, stupid and silly to block and nerf this ability, since it unbalances the game. Make it possible, to have a mesmerize, that can mesmerize ALL enemies, like Epic-Mobs too. Because then we are usefull. Give us back the same spells before the sucking LU15/LU16 - and next time u are going to push a button which changes the world for a lot of players, please, take your brain out of the fridge and bring it to your work. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Call this a whining post, because it is one. Maybe it shows the frustration i have now. Maybe this time it helps, i dont know. But when BRad brings his game out, i will leave from this crappy game, designed by some freaky marketing geek that is reading stockmarket reports and player statistics instead of trying to play the crap he is giving others to taste.
