<P>our pet is a copy of us when we summon it.  If you change your appearence the pet stays the same as it was summoned unless you zone.</P> <P>regardless it does the same kind of damage(crush for melee) regardless of what you were waering when you summoned it.   Also agility gear and so forth doesnt make the pet any better.  And you cant hand it weopons or anything like that. </P>

Everquest 1 still offers a more flexible combat setting and that made it great. To much limits in EQ2 which just removes the fun from the game, for example fear kiting is still gone right ? (just came back, its better but not that great.) /Cazrack

My pet has saved me on many occassions due to its ability to get almost instant aggro from my attacker.  I have it up almost all the time.  Beware though that your pet will break your mez in an instant if that mob has attacked you in anyway prior to the mez.

You can control your pet so that it does not break mezz.
