Conventional wisdom says take the haste. At Master 2 it's 42% - only 1 or 2% less than its replacement (gained at 4<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> at <b>Adept 3</b> quality. This can save you a ruby, as you continue to use Celerity all the way up to 60. Your mileage may vary, depending on how often you group and whether you bathe in rubies. On the other hand, some folks like the mana regen, and a similar argument can be made for Scinillating Aura, although the comparison is not as close. If I could do it again...I would take the construct. I happen to be fond of it in general, as it helps when soloing or grouping, whether doing good DPS, or just distracting an add for a moment. The biggest argument in its favor is that it's not a silly fairy anymore. I could handle all our rainbows and sparkles, but the mocking I got for the fairy...*shudder*.Almost no one makes the argument for Tormenting Visions, because, quite frankly -- there isn't one. Many fights are too short for the seizure to go off, and the whole spell is a very small piece of our DPS pie anyway.<div></div>

Personally I would pick mana regen if I had to do it again. Lets face it if we like it or not people like us for our mana regen first. <div></div>

<DIV>True, but</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. They wouldn't notice the difference.</DIV> <DIV>2. Just a weeeee bit more regen of mana isn't enough to overrule somethig that definetly helps out the caster in survival in solo and for group emergency events.</DIV>
<P>For my illusionist, I choose the construct and have not regretted it for a minute. At 42, it's still one of my most useful spells.</P> <P>Soloing, it can reduce and encounter's time by 70% it seems. And if I pull agro, I chain, move away, and it usually pulls it back quickly.</P> <P>In a group, it's DPS is noticable.</P> <P>It's only weakness is it has virtually no damage mitigation. If it pulls agro during a fight with something 3 or 4 levels above you..it may get killed quickly. But if you delay a few seconds and let you're personae build up a little hate, it usually doesn't pull agro until the tale end of the battle. If only I could hold off pulling agro til then, all would be great...</P> <P>Maddill</P>

<DIV>Anyway for you to command the construct to NOT taunt?</DIV><p>Message Edited by RpTheHotrod on <span class=date_text>11-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:34 PM</span>

It doesn't. It just does some some nice damage, which occasionally draws mobs' attention? The real question is: why would you not want it to taunt? I suppose, given that the hate would transfer to you on death, that it might be a problem in group settings. But then I would avodi casting it until you knew for sure the mob would die in the next 45 seconds.<div></div>

<DIV>It taunts, at least, I see the fire taunt effect that warriors have go off and the target immediatly goes to the construct.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Though, I did make it master II</DIV>

I think that's the Construct casting one of its spells, "Strict Order", which is a nuke. It could have a taunt component, but there's no real way for us to tell for sure.Let us know how the choice works out for you!<div></div>
