I currently posses a couple Pearls and Vanadiums and I am wondering what would be the best spells to upgrade. Obviously damage spells such as: Embolism, Devour Hope, Prismatic Havoc, Shimmering Beam, Brain Burst and Construct of Reason should be upgraded. But I am having a hard time deciding on the utilities and if it is worth upgrading any of the mesmerize spells. I see a few people have upgraded Illusory Allies, but does upgrading it from Adept 1 really help at all? Are resists at higher levels a problem to warrant upgrades in mesmerize, or is it barely noticable? And this is a bit off-topic, and has been posted before, but what Master's 2 did you guys go for in the end? In the other post, it was rather indecisive besides a couple people who went with Ingenuity and Dynamism. Do you guys regret going for those and wish you had went with something else?

I took Seal of Ingenuity as my Master II. That makes it +69 Int and Wis.

I managed to get a Vanadium Cluster and had Savante made Adept III, primarily cause it cannot be npc bought and the Adept I drops are almost non existant. The Sage books tend to drop Adept III well over Adept I's. Savante at Adept III is 58% less power consumed. Athenea on Najena made it for me for 20g which was a great price in my opinion.

I try to be cautious and not upgrade a spell past Adept I if it will be replaced soon. So although I am only lvl 54 (newb) I am looking ahead to see that Illusionary Allies is one spell that will 'grow' and therefor need no upgrading. I am looking forward to it, it will be fun to see I am sure. I don't worry about damage spells cause our group task is not damage, but control and buffs.

WARNING Brilliant Regalia is the spell given out as a Adept I quest reward from Shimmering Citadel, so don't spend 15g for it on vendor like I did. I honestly thought I had a choice of what Adept I to take as reward and was going to choose Savante... <sigh>

Transient Sentiment at Adept I gives +111 Int which is awesome. So upgrading it would be a good choice.

I have no info on Spell Shield, but it may be one to look to upgrade.

Dont upgrade spellshield.

It reflects 3 spells at 100% chance, so first three each time no matter spell level. Upgrades increase the % of damage reflected. On an Epic, you are reflecting the damage as a PC, NOT the Epic's damage. i.e. if an Epic uses Static Pulse it will hit for 650/tick but if you reflect it it will hit for 15/tick. So upgrading might get you to 20/tick...wooohoooo.

Spellshield is a Defensive spell only IMO, does not get resisted, so is pointless to upgrade.

I see alot of people saying they picked Seal of Ingenuity as there master II and also Dynamism. To me all of the choices were very good. All of them in there own way were very beneficial (unless your just thinking HOW WILL THIS HELP ME IN A RAID). Just an FYI the Seal of Ingenuity Master I is +67 which I just happend to get so I didnt pick that as my master II. So Dynamism is another obvious choice because dmg is usually the biggest difference you can see. But I wanted to be a little different and I love mez and hope to see that people will learn to see its potential and went with Abduct Mind since its such a great spell. Which by chance, I was impressing my guild by locking down 5 triple up arrow mobs easily right after I chose that spell (all level 57-58 mobs). As far as the Adept III goes its all up in the air as to what exactly do you want to do? Savante is a great choice to upgrade in my opinion, anyway you can ease a groups power consumption is a great help to any group. Again, I love to mez so I upgraded Phantasmal Brilliance right away. Also, dont forget about Devour Hope.... Its all about your playing style. What do you think you would like to do the best? Dmg or utility? Or maybe, a little of both?

My second choise is Ingenuity as it's upgrade is very usefull for raiding purposes with increasing int and wis (extra wis means more power for priests and more resists for everyone, besides the obvious benfit of int for mages and spell casting/procing melee classes) ... I havent really considered mez as a viable option as I have my mezes at adept 1 atm and havent seen too many mez resists on mobs that were yellow/orange. Even when I do get a resist I have enough mez/cc options that I can quickly compensate for a resisted mez with another mez or a stun or root ect. Eventually I will get my mezes upgraded to adept 3 just for the sake of having them but they are low down on my priority list.

As for my priority list to get adept 3's I would go with (not counting the rare spells which I got made first .. Savante, Illusory Allies, and Spellshield which I had made @ Adept 3 prior to the change where they would drop as Adept 1... these are unquie class defining spells, but I dont know how much its worth to get them upgraded now that Adept 1 is a option for them)

Prismatic Havoc

Seal of Ingenuity (if not picked for master 2)

Devour Hope

Embolism

Shimmering Beam

Brain Burst

Construct of Reason

all the mez spells and stiffle/stuns

My personal choises may be changed if I didnt have adept 1 of all of the above. IE. if I only had S.B. app2 I would upgrade it before Havoc if I had Havoc at Adept 1 already

A few quick Questions for you Tulerine.

1. How did you get a Master III Insight. I thought Master III's were not in game.

2. How did you get a Master II Devour Hope. I thought Master IIs could only be gotten at 14,24,34 ,44 and 54 and Devour Hope is not one of the 54 choices?

Thanks in advance

He doesn't have Devour Hope master II or Insight master III seeing as they don't exist. I think he just got confused during the post, seeing as how Devour Hope is listed at the top as an adept III, then in the middle as a master I, then at the bottom as a master II. Anyways...I have Devour Hope at master I, definitely a good upgrade mainly because it debuffs around 900 to magic, mental, and divine, making it a good opening spell specially when it comes to raiding. I also disagree with what he said above about Shimmering Beam not being a worthwhile upgrade...I wasn't lucky enough to finish the quest in time to get the master for free, but I was able to buy it. At master, it does far more damage than at adept 1, and seeing how this is our main nuke, and can be spammed, the upgrade makes a huge difference.

Ya sorry about that. I meant Adapt III on those. I got confused while typing and tabing.

I have Insight at adapt III and Devour Hope at Master 1

About Shimmering beam..ya it has its uses during soloing. I think during groups epics or mobs with big HPs it has limitted results due to the fact in the scheme of things, this spell simply does not to much damage. If I hadnt completed the quest early, I may have put a pearl in it, but I would not have gone crazy for a master
