<DIV>Is there an upgrade to this spell at higher levels? Or is the one you get at level 10 the only one available and so are limited to charming level 24 mobs or less? </DIV>

Illusionists receive the Personae * line to replace the Charm you get at Level 10.

<P>You mean that after level 24, that's it as far as charming mobs?!</P> <P> </P>

Yep, unless you're a coercer.Personae is still a pretty nice pet for soloing...and now with the new masks I can dress it up like Queen Antonia and smack it around.  It likes it!  I swear!<div></div>

<DIV>Ive actually found that the personnae is a complete waste when soloing. I mean, when ur fighting one mob, ur just gonna root it and nuke the **** outta it. When u got a bunch of mobs, color shower and phycotic spectrum kill them fast enough that they wont do that much damage to u. Besides, if u sent the pet in to tank first, chances are ur gonna putt aggro from it real easily. And if ur trying to kill heroic mobs, once u send ur pet in its dead in one or two hits. Only REAL use ive found for it is pulling stuff. The other day me and another illu were in Cazel's Mesa trying to duo the nameds in there......wed send the pet in to goup the mobs up close together then use AoE mezz on em, and then mezz whatevr was left over runnign for us. Definately made the pulls alot easier, especially considering they were orange to the both of us =)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Oh and for the record, to kill them without a full goup ud need 2 illus and one wizzie/ranger. We couldnt kill them fast enough to keep up with the reset timer, and im 100% sure that neither one of us (58 and 59 illu) coulda kept em on the lockdown alone due to resists.</DIV>

<DIV>I would consider "Charm" to be the kind of spell that would define a class, and it's bizarre to give us a low-level one, and then take it away. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Is "Personae" a weak copy of me? How is that supposed to tank?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

The reason you get the level 10 charm is because you are not an Illusionist yet.

I said in beta that level 10 enchanters should get both a charm and a persona, or neither. It doesn't make alot of sense to only get one or the other. Really though, in the grand scheme of things, it's not that big a deal. PigLick</span><div></div>

I see it a different way.  You are neither an illusionist nor a coercer, but you get to dable in both to figure out which way you are going to go before you have to make the choice.

<P>Yes I would agree about getting both, but origanal question was why there were no upgrades once you chose to be an illusionist, and that is because it's the Coercer's line,.</P> <P>I am glad I cant charm.  Honestly, I would like to see Coercers fixed just as much as Illusionists, but until they can charm and have it last the entire time, they are a liablilty.  </P>

Coercers deserve a fixed Charm, I heard they have a lot of problems with their currently. Our illusion may not be a strong pet, but it has a use even against ^^^ NPCs : keep those rooted, cast your DoTs, nukes or whatever, and when it's ready send your pet with prismatic strike on it loaded and stun the NPC. Then recall the pet, and repeat when it's ready again. It speeds those fights much.<div></div>

Id rather have the conc for more power and int personally. I have masters for my personae and prismatic but it just does not seem like its worth it. Wasting all that power stunning them, setting up prismatc, and sending in the pet....etc.</span><div></div>

The power decrease benefit with savante is REALLY nice, just it's so very seldomly used, that I always forget about it myself too.

Nice idea Pinsky, and Barobrain, it's just the trade speed vs safety, friend <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

Savante and soloing is an interesting thing to think about. The question is, does the power used to maintain the spell outweight the power saved or vis versa. <div></div>

<P>Off topic, but...</P> <P>Savante solo is not the most efficient use, but any group spell is less efficient solo, however...</P> <P>Savante costs 336 power to run it's full duration. During that time I can cast 1789 power worth of spells. The savings at 58% (Adept III) is 1037 power.</P> <P></P>
