I had upgraded by Scorching Beam to Adept 3 before I got Word of Force from Splitpaw.Since I got Word of Force, it scaled with my level and it has always doing more damage than my Adept 3 version of Scorching Beam.I was wondering if there is any good reason to use Scorching Beam over Word of Force - or if anyone with Shimmering Beam know if Word of Force still does more damage at level 57?<div></div>

I use Word of Force while soloing and Scorching Beam while grouped (I have too many other things to do while grouped so I like the faster cast time).</span><div></div>

Actually, they have the same Recast Time, and share the same timer (3.0 seconds). Thanks for pointing out the faster casting time for Scorching Beam though! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. I never noticed that before! <span>:smileysurprised:</span>(Level 53, 411 Int)Word of Force:Power: 88Casting Time: 2.0Recovery Time: 0.5Recast Time: 3.0- Inflicts 319 - 431 damage on target - On termination, 10% chance to inflict 319 - 431 damage on targetScorching Beam:Power: 60Casting Time: 1.0Recovery Time: 0.5Recast Time: 3.0- Inflicts 303 - 410 damage<div></div>The damage changes a bit with lower int in different setups. Maybe it just seems like it cause it's ~4 seconds from the time I cast it till the time I can cast it again instead of ~5 seconds. <DIV>Between the two you're basically trading off the slower cast (meaning 1s slower recast in effect) for the 10% chance to do double damage (plus the power costs of the two).</DIV> <DIV><BR>I'm lazy and like the fast cast of Scorching Beam so I just use that all the time as my nuke.</DIV>
