We were 3, a paladin 51, a warlock 40 and me. We were fighting Frosthorns in everfrost trying to get their leader. To make things clear : - The pal was pulling groups of 2 to 5 - On groups of 3 or more i was using group mezz as a 'one spell stop all' - Then the pal was engaging an unmezz mob (5th or resist) while i completed the mezz with single target spell. - When the engaged mob responded, each time, the DS reacted as it should on that one but also on his mezzed companions waking them all. (at least it's how we perceived things) As mezz now prevent even HO, i was thinking that this shouldn't occure. Am i wrong? Please feel free to give it a try, i'm pretty sure that was the DS even if the proc of the HQ mass of the paladin (crying mass?) was also considered. We didn't 'tested' that, we're not testers on test server but i think there's a problem somewhere. Just for info, the single target mezz didn't broke . It's not life threatening and could be intended but i would like to know if anyone had the same experience or something similar and if it is a bug or just a rule of the game.

the AE mez does not state it prevents AOE, in other words all ae damage spells (ho, procs, spells, damage shields), do damage to the mezd mobs and thus breaks mez. Only the signle target mez spells state (Prevents AOE) in their description and hence those wont break.

Just have to get use to following up with single targets asap if your working with ae./damage sheilds.

the above poster is correct and has summed it up pretty well.

AE damage of any kind breaking AE mez seems intended and i am glad about this change. So both, the warlock AE damage shield and the pally AE procing weapon, are breaking your mez.

you could either ask your group to not use them in this situation or change your tactics. utilize the warlock AE root for example combined with our AE stun on income and single target mez after.
