View Full Version : Dual Illusionist Groups

<div></div>I know that due to our low numbers most people won't have the opportunity to group with another illusionist, and some who have had the opportunity in the past (pre revamp) probably try to avoid it due to our previous stacking issues. Last night I had the pleasure of grouping with a 52 Illusionist (Hiya Tulerine!) and it was a blast! To start with, between the 2 of us there was enough concentration to go around for all of our buffs. All the casters had Dynamism and all the meeles had hastes, including our conjurors pet. The really nice thing was our damage output, espically against groups. Now that our dots stack we were both opening up with colour shower, droping prismatic strife on seperate meeles and watching the mobs drop like flies, not to mention keeping all of the mobs stifled for the duration of the fight. And of course there's no worry about adds either, I think between the 2 of us we could've kept half the zone locked down if we needed to <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> So the next time you're out xp'ing and trying to fill the last couple spots for your group, don't automatically pass over those lfg illusionists. <div></div>
<P>Well considering I was number 12 to hit 50 the day before revamp and number 3 to hit 51, and I am positive 4 of the 12 have left the game permanently, one the remaining 8 is being botted by another guild...</P> <P>I don't think there will be many LFG when I am filling, lol.</P> <P>What I want to see is 2 Illusionists on a raid with a Stifle Chain going.</P>

<DIV>Hiya,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Yes that was a great time!. I forgot that we each had different pris striffe responsibilities. That deffinatly was a help. I wonder if having our pets> more DPS with the 3 concentration slots</DIV>

theres an illusionist on my server i duo with VERY often. we actually work so well together after the revamp sometimes we just duo in zones like silent city and shimmering citadel without even bothering to find more people. and for those times when theres 2 ils in a full group, you can stack dynamism for twice the chance to proc!...yes i tested this, and it does seem to work =)

<span><blockquote><hr>DaMutation wrote:<div></div>and for those times when theres 2 ils in a full group, you can stack dynamism for twice the chance to proc!...yes i tested this, and it does seem to work =)<hr></blockquote> Seriously?? So if I cast dynamism on myself and the other illusionist and they cast it on themselves and me you're saying that a single nuke can proc Dynamism twice? That would mean that there's essentially a 66% chance for it to proc (33% x 2) which could really start to add up! That doesn't seem right to me but I'll give you the benifit of the doubt as I've never tested this. Hey Tul, guess what we're trying tonight? <span>:smileyvery-happy: If this turns out to be the case, the those extra conc slots should definitly go to dynamism over a pet in groups. (I still hate using my pet in groups...she's there to pull giants to me at the top of sand dunes and then stand back while I kill them <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />) </span></span><div></div>

<DIV>actually i **think**that a single spell wont proc it twice, but that twice the spells actually proc it. so if u cast 10 spells in a row, chances are that about 6 of them will proc it as opposed to 3. but EITHER way, i just collected this from looking at the numbers floating above the mobs heads. but about having more damage from double dynamism, that was from a parser. i noticed that it procd ALOT more often when we stacked our dynas (and this was during the course of about 20 battles). either way, im probably gonna check how it procs when they are stacked, and see if dynamism comes up twice in a row in the log. either way, it gives the same effect, but im just too curious <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Wierd. I have seen in the past a single Dynamism buff procing twice from a single spell, but I'm pretty sure this was during beta and I get the feeling that either it had a chance to proc for each effect applied (like nuke+root for example) or that it was given a chance to proc off itself like nightmare used to do. I still want to test this out...you'd think that 1 single nuke out of 10 would proc both at once if they were both working. I've seen my dynamism go off at the same time as the similar troub buff fires from a single nuke, so it should be possible. Would be cool if this works though...now we just need to convice our raids to put 2 power regeners in a single group with a bunch of wizzies & warlocks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

On the harder ones i think id prefer to have mana regen. but ill post the results if i do get a chance to try it =)</DIV>
Why do you need to convice your raids to swap groups around and put 2 illusionists in the same group?Dynamism can be cast on group or raid friend(as seen by the examine) and it works that way. No need to put 2 in the same group at all.

<DIV>heh...didnt even notice that =) guess all this concentration on XP instead of raids got me distracted...maybe i should retire from my position <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<span><blockquote><hr>Pinski wrote:Why do you need to convice your raids to swap groups around and put 2 illusionists in the same group?<hr></blockquote> Because I like to waste power regen </span>apparently <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Handy that's it's group/raid wide, guess I just forgot... <div></div>

<P>well if somehow u manage to have 4 or 5 illusionists in one raid it can happen <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P> <P>but then again, on my server there aint that many illusionists compared to the number of other classes...hell i think i know the name of every 50+ illusionist on the server, so this isnt likely to happen. but then agian, dont know about other servers....</P>

2 illusionist in a group rocks. myself(51 ill.), another 51 ill., 2 51 pallys and a 51 zerker group regularly and can take down 54^^^ mobs easily even with mutiple adds, level 51 ae mez is pretty good and having all the tanks hasted, dynamism, prismatic strife, etc. and debuffing mobs we make a very efficient team. the 2 pallys usually do a decent job of making 1/2 a cleric lol. granted the 5 of us been playing since around mid 30's together but still a good team, grab a wizzy or good dps char to round out the group and you talking some serious [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] kicking.
<DIV>SunTsu - you sparked me to check my history in leveling... I was 21st to hit 50 on my server... and 11th to hit 51... and i just hit 51 yesterday - somewhat slow when you look at all the people leveling out there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I play on Steamfont which is a somewhat low-pop server... but I'm amazed that there are only 10 active Illusionists ahead of me! Well not TOO amazed... I always knew we were a rare breed and kinda liked that... though I have seen a LOT of other illusionists lately. I think people seeing the Personae sparked a lot of them to start working with their Illusionist alts again. </DIV>
<DIV>As a side note, for all the folks who envy Wizard's nukes...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I've met 2 Wizards who wouldv'e traded their nukes for the Personae. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>A little Gnome that follows me everywhere is just too cute for words I guess <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV>
