<DIV>Well the expansion is here and we may have to accept the fact we may never get our just due. I'm just writing this little thread to help my fellow illusionist pump every little bit of DPS out they can. Now all of my spells are master except Wither Hope and Color Shower so you might not get the same results. First I would just like to say that our dots could really use some buffage, at capped INT (350 INT at lvl 50, more than that does absolutely nothing) Wither Hope adept III was only doing 90 something -107 if i can remember correctly and Lobotomize master I was doing a whopping 80 something - 97! I know this doesnt look good but stay with me. First off cast Prismatic Strife as the tank comes back from the pull, then cast Wither Hope to debuff the mob some ( has like a 588 magic debuff), then Lobotomize, Scorching Beam, Psychotic Spectrum ( yea i know i know i said Psychotic Spectrum, but its damage none the less. Its doing 102-127 at master I <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />, like i said its still damage) you might even want to throw in Color shower since it does pretty good damage and its not like your going to chain cast it Psychotic Spectrum. After that, Rinse and repeat. Oh, ALWAYS keep Prismatic Strife up whenever you can, thats our money spell now ( at master I its doing 497-527). I havent played around with the Constructs any because the group i play with kill the mobs waaaaayy to fast for it to be used. As for the Doppleganger, ill have to test it when i upgrade it to adept III. I know our DPS isnt where it should be but hopefully these tips will lessen the blow. I still havent given up the fight to get more DPS though, so keep the movement alive:smileyhappy:. Hope this helps some,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Zimm Dreamweaver - 50th illusionist of Antonia Bayle</DIV> <DIV>Halcyon Affinity</DIV>

My level 45 druid with adept I and low int has two damage spells forming a complete HO, doing roughly 350 + 300 + 200 from HO as damage. Cast 2 sec both, recast 3 and 8 sec, so less than 10 sec (HO recast timer). Plenty of time to insert a heal or whatever while still chaining HOs. These are adept I , not adept III or even master spells. This druid is 5 levels lower than your 50 illu. He can wear better armor than an illusionist and can heal himself. Agreed, my own illu which I haven't touched yet is only 28, I may overlook some hidden superfeature making this better than what I read out of it. I don't know most spells listed. But it looks to me that the illu now is a DPS class with about half the DPS than a healer. Depressing. Makes me even less eager to log into my illu. Please clarify if it is not as bad as I think.</span><div></div>

Now I'm not an Illusionist, but I didn't hear any mention of Dynamism in there. I've been following both Illu and coercer issues (coercers moreso of course, but I'm interested in both sister classes), and Dynamism is a key component to helping increas Illu dps from what I gathered. Don't overlook that one. PigLick <div></div>

<div></div><div></div>I ran last night's log through EQ Companion... Most fights I was outputting 140-160 DPS against blue and even con solo mobs. Of course, some fights were lower (120) and some higher (190). Most of the damage came my Scorching Beam (Adept I), Dynamism (Adept 1), and Prismatic Strife (Master II) on the Personae. To put those numbers in perspective: My 50 berserker was parsing around 200dps average when tanking. Sometimes, it would get up around 350, but never lower than 150. A level 50 Ranger guildmate of mine was pumping out well over 200 consistently. Fights consistently lasted 15-20 seconds. I had no problem taking on yellow (no arrow) mobs or white (1 up arrow) mobs. I didn't try to solo anything higher yet. Keep in mind that this is with an Apprentice 1 Personae Duplicate and is only the first night of the changes. Things will continue to go up as I learn better tactics. I think our DPS could be a bit higher, but if they don't change it I think this is something I could live with. <div></div><p>Message Edited by MillsFairchild on <span class="date_text">09-14-2005</span> <span class="time_text">10:23 AM</span></p><p>Message Edited by MillsFairchild on <span class=date_text>09-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:24 AM</span>
<DIV> <DIV>I parsed last night and averaged around 220 DPS. This vs around 75 pre revamp. Big improvement. Topped out sub 300. I have not upgraded my spells in the 50's. I have Master Labot all others adept 1 until i get a sage who wants to work.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I trio'd with a necro and a Inquis, the Inquis was sub 70 consistently, and the Necro was always over 250, usually low 300 with his tank pet.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Too early to complain as we were against single targets and we accel against groups.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The necro was healing alot, so I am a little wary.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Will try wiht a conj tonight when my buddy gets on. <BR></DIV></DIV>

<P>Remember while your dps go up from relearning your class so do the dps of every other class from realearning theres.</P> <P>So were as broken as we ever where were just broken in a new way, an we can all look forwards to hours of fun finding out just how broken we all are.</P> <P>Oh I have played with our charm, Its a laugh, pretty useless but its fun to see my charmed (^^^) grey beat us some other (v) grey and barely survive unless i help out</P>

<div></div>lol... I DID forget to include the Construct's damage output. Tack on 60 to my numbers, since that was what he was averaging. So, I actually averaged 200-220 DPS. Right in line with what SunTsu said. EDIT: Fixed my numbers, durrrr. Hey - I was up all night playing! I'm tired! <div></div><p>Message Edited by MillsFairchild on <span class=date_text>09-14-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:38 AM</span>
<P>My biggest gripe is Lobotomize. I find myself watching the maintained bar to make sure I get it to go off before recast. Really silly way to do it IMO. 1/3 the damage at the end and only if it ticks out.</P> <P>I would like to see it moved half way thru or put in the beginning. The way it is I cast in the beginning and let it go then forget to recast until it is long gone. </P> <P>The fastcast nuke is still to lame as well. We really need that thing higher, like 3x. </P> <P>I like the Mastery, Hit around 1100 when I remembered to use it. Will make it that much more important to fight your chosen foe.</P>

Make sure to cast Dynaism on yourself. That thing procs off every hostile spell you cast; stuns, mez (the damage happens before the mez hits, so it doesn't break it), debuffs. This also includes all of our aes. Chance for 200+ damage for every single mob; kthx. <div></div>

<DIV>I think the key here is that our full DPS potential doesnt get unleashed unless we are in a full group. Pop dynamism on every mage in your group including yourself. The DPS this will add on large groups of mobs pushes us way up there. Prismatic Strife at master is a beautiful thing, use it every time. Coercers beat us hands down at solo DPS, but I think we get the jump on them in groups with dynamism. P.S. upgrade dynamism. The big question mark for me is haste. I really would like somebody to test and see what kind of DPS this adds on scout, monk classes. Our ability to crowd control is also rather stunning now, which doesnt make it all that painful that we are at the bottom of the Mage DPS pile. This is where we were sposed to be from day 1. I've seen social aggro in action in the new zones. Last night, at one point, I had 3 large group encounters locked while my group took out a forth. We lived. Post combat changes this would have been an evac/wipe. Ya, its situational. But if we get to save our group from wipes occasionally, and feel like complete bad-[Removed for Content] doing it... well i'm all in for that. I love my charecter now.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Myrid</DIV>
