<DIV>I know I'm in the "Illy hump" at the moment, having dinged 28 recently; however, I was wondering if we ever become decent soloers in this game. Right now I find it rather difficult to solo anything that cons over white as solo ...and nothing green or higher that's a group mob (and I soloed a lot in EQ1).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I guess I was just wondering if there is some holy grail spell line that is coming down the lines in the 30s-40s that will make soloing more possible. Right now I feel as though I'm one of the worst solo classes in the game ..lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Or maybe my strats are wrong ....usually now I root, dot, dot, start HO, nuke, daunting gaze, start HO, nuke, nuke, dot, dot, root ...etcl..etc...</DIV>

<DIV>The only problem I normally have with solo'ing is finding enough solo mobs in one place to satisfy my appetite. All you need is open space enough so that you can move around during battle. At 28, I started off with gloom, stupefy, cerebral, static, blinding (root with nice quick casting time). If you got the stupefy in as soon as it is in range it should have not had a chance to hit you yet. Then back away to the limit of the range your dots and wait for blinding light to get close to the end then execute an HO with either you best nukes or gloom depending on HO pops up. Then root again, wait a bit (for root to refresh in case it breaks while applied dots) then apply whatever dots aren't running. As long as you have space to run around then your fine. If things get out of sync, stun, redot, root and back away, so your back in control again. Just stay as far away as possible so that you are still in range to cast your dots and you will be able to get off a root before it come close.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I used to pull with Ego Shock (stuns so you get to hit it with another nuke before it starts running at you), HO, Mind, then finish with whatever and root but I found the mob got a round in which was sometimes unhappy so I went the safer way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At 31 I do very much the same except I have better dots (I wish I could find adepts for these) and a faster casting/recycling nuke that I can rip off HO's with. Usually I don't get hit even if I have a mob that breaks root a lot. Blinding light has a pretty fast recast so if even if it breaks right away, I can run until it recycles and I start far enough away that I have time to recast it before it reaches me. If I'm in a pinch then I'll use my stun.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I haven't played around with solo'ing too many casters but the ones around varsoons seemed easier then the melee types as you can stifle them for long periods of time while you nuke and HO their brains out (they melee was horrible, as it should be). These were blue to me at the time. I'd like to find some good caster mobs again now that I have speechless (mega power drain).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is the best way I have found so far but I'm sure there are some other suggestions out there so lets hear them folks!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gearbert</DIV> <DIV>31 Illusionist</DIV> <DIV>Mistmoore</DIV>

<DIV>I can ( if excedingly careful about it) solo a green/low blue Double up group mob basically doing. mez, start HO, Nuke, run away and mez, Nuke /Finish HO, run away and mez.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With Entrance being able to be cast on the run you're pretty safe as you flee, baring resists. you can also stun and/or root to help it out. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only real drawback is when the mob is abotu 50% or so hp and you need to be consuming Hp for MP ( you could just leave the mob mezed longer though) a lucky wild Swing or stun move on you can easily be 500-700 dmg, and if you've been turning hp into Mp and/or took a few other incidental hits = death.</DIV>

I've been soloing yellows, pairs of greens, and pairs of blue-v mobs since the low 20s and am doing it better than ever at level 28 (though I'm noticing their hits more, I have more ways to hold them off now). This is the routine I use on solo yellows:1.Ego shock, DD and short root2.Gloom, about 50 damage per tick at 28 with adept III3.Cerebral spasm, decent damage per tick, just under 30, and power drain.4.Daunting gaze (could use uncertainty now)5.Arcane augur6.Execute solo HO7.Root(sometimes I stun and do another HO before I root)8.Move9.Nuke, possibly refresh DOTS10.Dead MobWith a pair it's basically the same deal, you just keep one mezed. Obviously breeze is essential, and in some rare cases you might use one or both of your health to power conversion spells.

<DIV>Um we are easily the best soloers in the game to the point of even being somewhat overpowered at soloing. I solo red con solo mobs with relative ease, and can even solo white and yellow ^^ group mobs which no other class in the game can do. This is at level 33 no less.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Breeze, nightmare, entrance and blinding light are your friends.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Routine for red cons and group mobs goes as follows: Cast breeze on self, cast fleeting thought on self, cast nightmare on mob, cast blinding light which will root before mob gets to you, get to furthest range for casting, cast speechless twice to drain power, then it's all a case of casting all your dots on mob and holding it at furthest casting range with root, recasting as needed and using uncertainty if root breaks before it has refreshed. If low on power simply unclick all dots, mez and keep mezzed until you are satisfied with your power level. Cast breeze/consume ego/reverie as needed. No nukes or HO, simply dot rotting. Dots are used along with nightmare since Nightmare has a dd proc once in a while which activates whenever an attack was succesful on it, and dot ticks counts as an attack giving nightmare the potential to do 400+ damage on its own with a very low power cost. Speechless is used so that in the unfortunate chance that the mob does hit you, you will not be hit by a special attack and only with weak melee.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On solo mobs you can afford to nuke/HO as they have significantly lower health then group mobs.</DIV>

<DIV>Turo,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do you use blinding light adept 1 or adept 3? I'm trying to determine if I should shell out for that adept 3 or not.</DIV>

<DIV>I've been using Binding Light adept 1. Depends how much the adept 3 is sold for to be worthwhile, but we get a new root Lock Mind at level 33.</DIV>

<DIV>Lock Mind unfortunately is the slow casting kind of root so don't expect to be able to solo with binding light and dot rotting forever. once you get up to mobs BL won't stick on ... I believe its roughly 40-43 somewhere in there same as entrance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't have the 47 root but since its a stifle too a slow casting time wouldn't surprise me. You'll notice Coercers get upgrades which are root + melee debuffs which are probably the fasting casting roots.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>unfortunate but I better to have quick rooted and lost, then to have never quick rooted at all.</DIV>
