View Full Version : Newbie Warlock Question
<DIV>I just started a new warlock and am having a problem with my root spell (lvl 5 Bind - currently at App IV). I am getting an insanely high resist rate (over 50%) on the initial casting of the spell when I cast it on even con (or lower) solo mobs. I plan on getting an Adept III version of the spell, but is there any other tricks I can do to reduce the resist rate on this spell?</DIV>

Janaem,The quality of the spell, the mobs resists, and your intelligence will all affect how well the root sticks. I like to solo questlines a lot, so upgrading my roots to adept3 or M1 has always been a priority. You won't get an upgrade to Bind until lvl 19. You can see a full list of warlock spells at <a href="http://www.eq2ref.com/abilities/index.php?class=Warlock" target=_blank>http://www.eq2ref.com/abilities/index.php?class=Warlock</a>I'm not calling you stupid (or am I?), but make sure to boost your int up a bit. Hop on the broker and see if you can find any +int potions and food. You might already know this, but once you have rooted a mob, don't use dots. The root has a chance to break everytime they take damage, so it's better to hit them a few times with high dmg nukes than to hit them a ton of times with low dmg dots.Good luck and have fun,<div></div>
Thanks for the advice, I will see what I can do to boost my Int and see how much of a difference that makes. My lvl 11 warlock has a 61 INT currently, I should be able to easily boost that with a couple of common crafted jewelry items my main can make for him.
