Yesterday after the nighttime patch I logged in an noticed this in the upcoming EoF warlock achievement tree : What had previously been Cataclysm (use all remaining power and convert to AOE magic damage at a ratio of 1:2) is now <b>Afterschock</b>.<i>Unfortunately </i>something was bugged with the examine window where it cut off halfway and there was no % of proc rate given per rank of the spell. <img src="http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7273/aftershockdq0.jpg"><div></div>
awesome concept IMO and alot better and more useful than Catclysm which was a 3damage to 1 power ratio and was insanely bugged. Just think....3 apoc going off within 10 sec of each other...major aggro+lots of dps :smileyhappy:

omg....If this is anything like the DoF contagious effect of tumultuous effect, we are in for a metric BUTT load of damage and aggro! I remember getting that corrupt gift/ maelstrom recursive effect for the first time in Living Tombs. Amazing.Daenarys70 WarlockMob Squad Kithicor<div></div>

So we no longer get our own AE version of Manaburn, and we get this now? Any clue what the chance to proc an "Aftershock" is?<div></div>

<P>actually the spell is bugged atm. it doesnt trigger at all. the description seems to fit to a passive spell but theres no buff in the line.</P> <P>but i like the idea. if this works right it could mean a lot extra damage... and extra agro :smileywink:</P>

Question, how can it do "additional damage a few seconds later"? Mobs die so fast already...I'm curious how many "aftershocks" we will get to see on a non-raid encounter...<div></div>

<P>i have tried that on beta, didn't proc any as of 11/9</P> <P>and i am puzzled that since the spell is instant cast, recast and recovery, why can't they make it as a permanent self buff? just a kinda of stupid if i have to click that clicky every once in a while</P>

Did a quick test today with my warlock.Target was a lvl 40 named and I only used the lvl 8 Poison Cloud to get enough hits in.Results:24 casts of Poison Cloud24 procs of Aftershock, quite a many of them were multiple aftershocks..ie proccing from another aftershock. So it seems to proc quite nicely. Average damage was 414 with 472 INT. I hope INT improves the damage which is not stellar.Gives some nice "free" additional dps. Worth to note that it only procs from them spells in Explosives line. Not sure if explosives line is worth taking just for Aftershocks tho.

Or from any spell that can be chosen in the line?
<DIV>well considering you have to basically have 20 aa points in the line in order to get teh spell...which is 4 in each of the aa's. Unless you maxed out 4 of the 5 with 5 aa's instead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also from what the spell is...its a passive spell that is basically a proc for all our AE's. In a less than a minute fight on a group of lvl 35 heroic guards on BB docks it triggered 8 times with the lowest being 349 and the highest was 507. So way it looks, if you want yo maximize DPS on single and ae...will have to go down hastenings and the explosivness lines to achieve that.</DIV>

This sounds interesting for PvP, which is my primary concern. Assuming the resists are more sensible in EoF, aftershock procs might well be a boon for Warlocks against other players.

I think its worth noting that the overall structure of the warlock tree has been substantially altered. This is the new styructure of the tree. Quite different from the prior version which I began this thread with.<img src="http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/3309/warlocktree.jpg"><div></div>
