I don't think the OP actualy capped his int, since the new cap is way higher then before. That would explain the supposedly reduction in damage of some spells.

I'm on a pvp server, so Rift hitting 12 targets is VERY common for me, but i understand the near uselessness on a pve server. Raids? Well, Rift=insta-death for me if i use it anytime before the very end of the fight, where there is typically only 1-2 targets left. Best case scenario for Rift in a raid zone has been the heroics right before Vilucidae on the stairs, but its almost guaranteed aggro.I would HATe the idea of a DoT on our debuff. DoT's break root very easily, and if they did give our Debuff a DoT the damage from said DoT would be so insignificant that it wouldn't be worth casting due to the risk of breaking the roots. So IMO, leave us without it.As for having capped Int in the expansion, he raised his Int by only a few points over the old cap, but was still right near half of the new cap, and his dmg only went down by 1%. What i'm curious to know is if we are able to cap out our Int to the new standards, will our spell damage significantly increase or are the diminishing returns so severe that by going that extra 50% to the cap would only give a 5-10% increase in raw damage.

I push myself to the limit every time i raid, its really the only way to succeed as an all Qeynos raiding guild. Lyceum, i push 2300dps. Stack that with a Rift Slam on a large encounter, combined with VERY weak detaunts from the current game, and you get instant death. With the new changes to our detaunts, it will be a whole new ballgame. Maybe now i can break that 2500 mark without dying I'm pretty stoked about the upcoming changes. If i figure it correctly, i will be able to keep my current Raid spec AAs, get manashield back, and still manage to snag our new manaburn. Good stuff.

Message Edited by NadKS on 11-06-2006 11:07 AM
