<DIV>I've done a search and can't seem to find the answer to this specific question.</DIV> <DIV>Do proc effects from items like grizzfazzle's walking stick and the bone clasped girdle have the potential to break a root?</DIV> <DIV>How about proc-like effects from spells such as Netherous Realm, Aura of Nihility, and Corrupt Gift?</DIV> <DIV>The reason I'm asking is because I'd like to know if it's worth it to cast these spells and wear these items when trying to solo a heroic. The relatively small damage from a proc doesn't seem worth it if it's going to present an extra chance to have the roots break.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance for any answers.</DIV>

Unfortunately, each proc can break root. Just as every tick of a dot has a chance to break a root, each proc can break root.<div></div>

They do have a tendency to break the roots, but the extra damage is worth it to use them, warlocks have enough stuns/slows/teleports to be able to recover from a root break. Throw up netherous, and corrupt before you root it, through on apocalypse.. if it breaks our single target root should fear them long enough to get another root off...then repeat; i manage to use most of my dots while killing heroics, just the right application of stuns between them. <P>I also belive the the procs on the actual root cast were changed a while back to hit before the root. This should prevent the proc from breaking the root on the actual cast. </P> <P> </P>

<P>I know the wizard roots were changed a while back to break on only damage, not hostile action.</P> <P>I've had many a root break from damage item procs. I can cast hex dolls all night long (provided the hex doll cast doesn't trigger a proc) and never break a root because it doesn't do any damage.</P> <P>hope that helps.</P>

The most fubared thing I have seen for warlocks and in my opinion sucks, is our procs can break roots, but they cannot proc procs. So if it is a "hostile spell" they should proc more procs (or have a chance at it) otherwise, they should not break roots.
