Ever heard of a thing called a Non-Disclosure Agreement? Beta Testers have.

Xalmat wrote:Ever heard of a thing called a Non-Disclosure Agreement? From past experiences I can only see the NDA lifting about a week before the expansion is released. Thus blindsiding us normal players. If it isn't to much trouble though I'd like to know when the NDA is to be lifted, but that seems to be under the NDA also..

One main reason for an NDA is to prevent widespread player outcry when something is in a state of flux. Using previous beta tests across multiple games as an example, I've seen some abilities go from "OMG that rocks!" to "OMG that sucks!" and back to a different "OMG that rocks!" all in the course of one week.Rest assured, you can bet that Beta testers give their 2cp and want to make sure everything looks good for release.

Yeah i know, but i remember when the first achievements came out they listed some of the highlights on the official site. Maybe even the devs talked about it on the boards. I guess i will just have to wait, and yes im sure they are nice . Less aggro please for less points!

giot

heh, yeah, past memories of beta weren't so fun. I left for a year because of the total lack of dev response to beta testers feedback. I think there were 3dev responses the entire time to warlocks in beta for DoF. KoS seems to have gone a lot better from what I hear. I guess it's a toss up, but I'm certainly not hopefully things will much improve or get much worse. As usual, it's more about how much more of a boost other classes get or get nerfed than any actual changes to us, being as dependant as we are for comparative dps purposes or for literal living needs.

Xalmat thats a bull[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] lol - thats I know from very first hand ....

a) Beta testers can give what ever 2cp they want - Developers don't give a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] about it ... trust me on that one

b) Beta testers in 95 cases out of 100 don't have ability to test ability to full extend because they limited by command /betabuff which not excatly give you chance to see how perform master level of spell compare to Adept 3 and what effect might have replacing mastercrafted gear with fabled

To the poster above mine: You have your opinion but I'll have to say that I disagree with you. If the developers didn't care about feedback during beta then why have a beta period to begin with? I'm not praising Dev's or bashing them, but you can't say that they don't listen to feedback players give them. I'll even go as far to say that sometimes, they listen too much, to people that have no idea what they're talking about. I guess it all depends on whose voice is louder so to speak. To the OP: I would have to guess that as soon as the NDA is lifted people will be able to tell you all about the new warlock achievements. As much as it sucks to hear, you just gotta be patient. But in all seriousness, there are players from all over the spectrum of the game that are on beta and giving feedback/praise where it's due. It may not be how people "choose" to be represented (someone in beta giving feedback on things they wish that they themselves could be giving feedback on) but they're doing their best. Promise :smileywink:Edit: I suck at spelling

Message Edited by Calirian on 10-16-2006 03:44 AM
