So, I'm only about a month old and I received my 2nd skill point last night. I'm playing on a PvP server, Blackburrow, and I'm currently level 31. I'd like to be useful in PvP and in Raids, eventually. My current stats, with clothing, are as follows..

Strength - 26

Agility - 41

Stamina - 90

Intelligence - 113

Wisdom - 63

Any advice? I was considering going Agility or Stamina. And I know it also depends on my playstyle and such, but I just need an idea of what is useful for me and what isn't since I'm a newbie.

Go STR and WiS, at least with Catalyst you can still hit hard in PVP even with the crappy resists you get when you hit lvl 70.

I changed my AA to STR 4 4 4 8 8 and WIS 4 5 4 8 0. I used to have AGI for the faster casting, but it didn't realy help much in pvp. With Catalyst and Freehand Sorcery combined i can force crit apocalypse to 800damage a tick in PVP, which is 4times better damage then before. Basicly with the extra mit and extra safe spells you'll only delay your death but be sure you'll die With higher dps you can sometimes kill your opponent before he kills you.

I personaly grp PVP alot, and well I can kill grps in PVP with 2-3 AE's now, where I used to need 5-6 before.

As for raids, well STR and WIS is the line the majority of warlocks take. They might put their points differently in it then I did, but that's what the take.

I'd suggest you try and get Free Hand sorcery 1st.... not having many AA points at the moment, Freehand Sorcery is an ability you can get quickly and with few AA's. Once you have more, eventually try and get Catalyst from STR line, and then max freehand sorcery. I'd also suggest maxing the Base Damage from the Wis line also.

Not to derail your thread..but Blackburrow is not a PvP server.

I went STR 4-4-4-8 and WIS 4-4-4-8, I like this combination, but I've one more point to spend.I'd be happy to get some suggestions or ideas about the following options:STR / "Spell Expertise" to increase damage spell crit chance from 5.8 to 7.3%WIS / "Freehand Sorcery" to increase addtional damage from 22 to 24%WIS / "Brainstorm" to increase base damage of all spells from 4 to 5%INT / increase by 4.0

Or would the following be better?STR 4-4-4-8-8 WIS 4-5-4-8-0Which means, dropping the reduce power cost of all spells by 12% from the WIS line.thank you
Message Edited by Deathspell on 09-29-2006 08:05 AM

Sagacity ftw.

With bards' "Don't Kill the Messenger" + items + Spell Expertise + potions, you can get your crit% to around 18-25%. I tried catalyst, but found a permanent 12% reduction in mana cost more valuable than a once/minute guaranteed crit that had a 1/4 or 1/5 chance of being a crit anyway.

I'm supposing here that everyone intends to raid at some point or cares about where they place on parses. If you're just running instances/soloing, you won't notice or need the mana reduction from Sagacity. And if you don't have a bard permanently attached to your hip, you may find Catalyst helpful. I can't speak to this, as I pretty much only raid and harvest nil crystals. :smileyvery-happy:

-Kai

You are on a pvp server so you want max burst dps you can get. You dont have long fights in PVP, even grp pvp is pretty short. 5mins fights in pvp is very long. Most of the time they take 1min. So the Sagaty won't help you much on PVP.

In that case, reroll a scout.

Hate to be negative, but sorcerors were obviously not thought out well before pvp was implemented. You may be able to get off a single spell before you're stunned for the 3 seconds it takes to kill you. :smileysad:

-kai
