I don't want to be a wizard - I've just retired my warlock until the class gets fixed or I give up on EQ2.

I hadn't been saving up wizard masters but I did betray to wizard four days ago and am in the process of rebuilding my character. Almost fully Adept 3 again (got 'em late last night) and have 3 masters, including Fusion.

Count me in, working on betrayal now. I haven't been happy with Warlock's since the combat revamp... I can't imagine how I suffered through 59 levels, this will be my last shot at trying to have some fun in EQ, and I must admit, so far its not so good.

Very disappointing too I've been a very faithful player of EQ for many years and the past couple years haven't been good but I'll will give it one more shot. It's really sad how much EQ sucks... especially for those solo players... I'm having a horrible time even soloing the betrayal stuff and the game doesn't give enough sense of accomplishment while playing only for a shot time each day. I mean there are so many quests, boring and pointless quests it kinda depresses the appeal to even want to do another quest, then if there is a quest worth doing you have to do a series of 500 boring and pointless quests before you even achieve anything. It kinda makes you feel like, whoa why did I even bother, was it that worth it?

I have spent the last few months playing DDO and its been a blast, but even that game gets dull over time... what is wrong with these MMOs... they loose their appeal very fast these days and I have to say out of many of the MMO's I've experienced EQ is the most complex, boring, chasing the carrot "always", pull your hair out, never have time to do anything, crappy game EVER!!!!! .... sorry for the rant I am just disappointed I use to love EQ so much but its becoming a chore, hell it's been a chore, for way too long.

Message Edited by Sarah on 08-15-2006 09:56 PM

My warlock has been out-dpsing wizards on single-target encounters in raids for like 400-700+ dps.. considering these wizards have been playing their class since EQ1, ehh.

AOe targets.. I would either tie my warlock or do better. :/

I went Wizard about a week after tht LU came out. Lost my masters and relic but had all adept 3 's within days. Now I am geting mastered up and have replaced the relic I lost. the game is fun again just like pre LU 13. Plus now in at the top of the parse. More dps and less death. Marty

I wouldn't want to go Wizzy...even if that would be better for my parses on our raids...I made this little caster for a reason...they are rare, and will get even rarer...since the class has been somewhat destroyed since LU 13 (oh...these days were a blast). But I honesty thing that the devs just HAVE to see what is going on!!! There will be a change, I am pretty shure about that...it's just a matter of time...maybe the god-system will give us some nice stuff, or the new "subclass-AA's" in EoF are somewhat special, so that Warlocks will become a bit more powerfull again...If not I will just stick to my Defiler, as she is also needed on raids :smileytongue:

I'm curious, those Warlocks that are nr1 or out-dps wizards, you guys have a hate transfer spell like Amends on you?I really doubt you can be dps at the top and live to tell afterwards without such hate transfer spell.I'm just curious coz, during the raids I attented, Warlocks never got to be in the MT group. Not saying that we belong there, but we usually end up in "other" groups where aggro doesn't appear to be so important, no aggro transfer/controls, etc... they always go to the MT group.Numerous times I've seen a Paladin in the MT group just to use his wards... while I rather had it in my group so I wouldn't die when casting one of two AE spells....

There are other means of reducing your hate besides a Pally's Amends. Troubador's Serene Serenade + Coercer's Harmonious Link + our own deaggros + proccing items (Guidance of Ages, Scepular mantle, etc.) = pretty low hate. Just be smart and don't start epic encounters with FHS'd Apoc or Absolution and you'll be fine.

As for the OP, I'm fully satisfied with our DPS, but not with all these steps necessary in order to maximize DPS. Assuredly, these will be seen to. Whether it's in the next LU or a year from now is anybody's guess...:smileysad: But, when warlocks are finally fixed, I can't help but think that one or two who betrayed to wizard might regret their decisions. Of course, this is only a guess, and yours is as likely to be right as mine.

For what it's worth,

Kai
